In this course, students will know the locations and scope of local health care facilities, make and cancel appointments, fill out basic forms accurately, gain a basic understanding of what insurance benefits are, understand what the local immunization schedule is and where services are located, know when and how to use emergency care, understand the importance of following directions when using medical prescriptions, understand basic patients' rights, and ask for and interpreter when necessary.
