In this course, students will locate schools in the community, learn the entry requirements for children to enter a school, fill out forms accurately, interact with school personnel appropriately, learn the names of children's teachers, understand the importance of memos sent home from school, learn how to get help reading school correspondence if necessary. Students will learn how to display children's work at work, understand report cards and reasonable expectations, understand attendance policies, learn how to report when family moves, understand basic parents' rights, know how to request special services and understand the importance and rules for extracurricular activities.
