This 8-hour Hazardous Materials hands-on/awareness refresher training will help participants see the importance of identifying spilled materials, knowing the proper response procedures, and what types of PPE must be used in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets. When necessary to address hazardous materials, participants will be trained to respond to hazardous materials emergencies in an offensive fashion. Their primary role is to identify a spill took place, recognize the spill, cordon off the area and call for appropriate staff as outlined in the company’s safety manual. OSHA requires training regarding chemical hazards in the workplace to give workers an understanding of the risks and to prevent injury. The 8-hour Spill Response refresher training will give participants a basic understanding with hands-on practice elements of how to handle spill response situations.
