This course is the third course in the Lean Sigma Certificate. Students work in teams and choose the appropriate improvement tools and apply them to an actual workplace improvement opportunity. The DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control) methodology is applied throughout the project. Each team must show evidence that they identified the root cause of a problem, corrected the problem and are able to demonstrate measurable improvement. In addition, a control plan must be introduced. Students will be critiqued by their peers and instructor throughout all five phases of the project. Successful completion of this course prepares students to take the American Society for Quality certified Six Sigma Green Belt Exam. A practice certification exam will be administered at the end of the course.
