Introduces accounting concepts and financial statements for sole proprietorships. Learners analyze and record routine transactions, adjusting entries, and closing entries. Learners prepare the Income Statement, Statement of Owner's Equity, and the Balance Sheet from the financial records they create for service and merchandising businesses. Introduces the learner to industry certifications that will enhance employability. Learners will be given the opportunity to review for and earn the Certified Bookkeeper Designation. This certification provides verification that a bookkeeper has the proven skills and knowledge needed to perform key accounting functions, including basic payroll, through the adjusted trial balance. Learners will continue to build their employment readiness through soft skill development.
Examines the basic accounting principles and procedures for those individuals who will work with accounting information, accountants, and in a business related setting. The learner will identify the accounting cycles, prepaid expenses, accruals, merchandise inventory, uncollectible accounts, and depreciation. The course is not intended as an in-depth study of accounting.

Learners explore specific topics to include diagramming, internal controls and transaction work in computerized environments. This course provides learners hands-on experience with database software as well as provides an introduction to data analytics within the field.
Examines normal human anatomy and physiology using a body systems approach with emphasis on the interrelationships between form and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization. Cellular metabolism and the individual components of body systems will be explored. Provides learners with hands-on use and application of dairy management software used in industry. Specific topic areas covered on the use of dairy management software application are: animals, tools, design, data entry, reports, inventory and veterinary herd check.
Introduces the commodity futures markets, with information on contract specifications, exchanges, basic trading information and fundamental and technical market information. Furthermore, time will be spent on the basic phases of grain marketing from the farm to the elevator, including fundamental market information, elevator storage policies, shrinkage, blending, moisture discounts, price spreads, opportunity cost and developing an enterprise marketing plan.
Examines the history of agriculture insurance and the process of crop adjusting and estimating yield loss in agronomic crops. Learners will define key insurance terminology and explain how the crop insurance process works for farmers and insurance providers. This course examines current agriculture insurance policies and programs, legal land descriptions are covered, and insurance documentation is reviewed.
Introduces professional characteristics and qualities expected of an agriculture sales professional. Learners will develop a complete marketing plan including a market analysis. Further, learners will develop a sales proposal and create news articles, advertisements and merchandizing displays.
Exposes students to various technologies used throughout agriculture. Areas of technology include precision farming, agriculture software packages, modern agriculture renewable energy technologies and equipment. Based on new technologies and equipment available for use, the technology area focused on may change slightly from year-to-year. Learners will interpret maps, generate operational plans and perform financial analyses based on agronomy data.
Establish the basics of animal nursing including patient history, restraint for medical procedures, and preventative medicine on both large and small animal patients. Topics covered Include venipuncture, wound management, client education, diagnostic imaging, and small animal nutrition. This course is only offered in spring and summer semesters.
Builds team software development and communication skills. Learners will form small teams, each identifying, designing and implementing an attractive and usable software application. The project teams will each use Agile software development principles to manage their projects, communicate project status, adapt to changing requirements and overcome technical challenges. Additional topics include a review of the Agile software development methodology.
Explores the equipment, software and techniques for the successful production and post-production of audio for video and animation projects. Learners will create original audio documents, capturing sound with professional microphones and manipulating those sounds with professional audio editing and mixing software. Learners will learn techniques for capturing sound in studio and on-location settings, syncing sound to picture, using sound effects, creating original foley sounds, dubbing voices and narration, exporting to various audio formats, mixing music, effects, backgrounds and dialogue to create professional audio documents.
Introduces fundamentals with NFPA Standards the student will learn how to use many of the powerful electrical drawing creation tools in the AutoCAD Electrical software. Activities include create schematic drawings (ladder logic and point to point), panel drawings, and PLC-I/O circuits using automated commands for symbol insertion, component tagging, wire numbering, and drawing modification. In addition, they are introduced to methods of customizing AutoCAD Electrical symbols, circuits, and databases.
Introduces the 3-dimensional modeling software Inventor to create solid part models, sheet metal and assemblies. The learner will create parts and assemblies as well as related 2D working drawings, bills of materials and animations. Learners will practice their skills on a variety of projects with various levels of difficulty.
Examines Automated Dairy technologies available for use on modern dairy farms. Learners investigate both Automated milking and feeding facilities. Students complete 12 hours of preventative maintenance hands on training at the NTC Agricultural Center of Excellence.
Investigates installation and maintenance of gas appliances. Covers reading wiring diagrams, component functions and operation, different ignition types, equipment testing, troubleshooting, proper venting codes, and industry safe practices. Covers leak detection for both gas and carbon monoxide, and make safe procedures.

This American Heart Association approved course covers adult and pediatric CPR and FBAO, two-rescuer CPR, barrier devices and AED. The course focuses on the needs of the professional caregiver. The Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) - Full Session includes the orientation, two (2) timed course practices and a CPAT test. During the orientation session, we will explain the testing process and how the equipment works. You will have the chance to ask questions and try the testing equipment. The pass rate of those who attend the orientations is higher than for those who do not, so it is highly recommended that you attend at least one of these orientations. The two practice tests are the same and we attempt to run the practice test under actual testing conditions. If the test is run under actual testing conditions and you successfully complete the test this is considered a PASS and you will not need to attend any further testing.
The Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) - Test Out is for a ONE-TIME try to challenge the CPAT course. Acknowledgment and waiver of CPAT orientation and/or conditioning period and/or timed practice runs will need to submitted.
Designed for learners seeking the Hazardous Materials (H) endorsement on their Commercial Driver License (CDL) as defined in § 383.93(c)(4). Successful completion of this course satisfies the Entry Level Driver Training requirements for eligibility to take the knowledge test for the H endorsement at the Department of Motor Vehicles. This course is designed specifically for drivers to safely transport hazardous materials. This 96-hour course prepares the participant to be able to perform fire fighting functions at the nationally recognized minimum levels under direct supervision. The targeted audience is individuals who desire to become Wisconsin Certified Fire Fighter I based on the requirements set by SPS 330.08, Employment standards, Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. This course is designed to provide the Fire Fighter I candidate with the information needed to meet the job performance requirements (JPRs) defined in NFPA 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, Current Edition, Chapters 5.2 through 5.5. The participant must also complete the Hazardous Materials Operation level course in order to meet the remainder of the NFPA Fire Fighter I JPR requirements.
