Gain skills in manicuring, pedicures, and advanced nail enhancement techniques, including polish application. Learners will determine nail shapes and proper nail care services with safety and infection control. Learners will perform paraffin dips for hands and feet. Advanced techniques will be taught and practiced in this course along with many nail art applications.
Repair engine mechanical failures. Learners will test and diagnose engine problems using compression tests, cylinder leakage tests, and engine vacuum testing. Theory will include cooling and lubrication systems including cooling system pressure testing and oil pressure tests. Emphasis is placed on in-vehicle engine repair including timing belt/chain replacement, oil and coolant leak repair, and engine mount replacement.
This course develops a theoretical background in the operating principles governing automatic transmissions and transaxles. The emphasis is on diagnostic procedures and the problem-solving techniques associated with the servicing and repair of automatic transmissions and transaxles for automobiles and light trucks. The course stresses care and use of shop equipment hand tools, databases and the application of safe shop practices. Need to meet entry-level assessment standards to enroll.
Provides hands-on training in the nail/spa area located in Studio Max. This course will be taught in a lab setting providing nail care services to the public. While providing these services, learners will be practicing safety and infection control with procedures and professionalism required for lawful and effective salon practices. Prep for state boards in this course.
This course provides the opportunity for the learner to develop the knowledge and skills needed to service steering and suspension systems. This course includes component description and operation, diagnosis, replacement and wheel alignment diagnosis and adjustment.
Introduces the learner to the repair, servicing and maintenance of hybrid systems and powertrains. The course will include: safety procedures and practices when working on hybrid components, study of hybrid electric system components and operation, exploration of current and future hybrid vehicles, service procedures and considerations of hybrid powertrains, and an introduction to hydrogen powered vehicles. Learners will be testing hybrid battery assemblies, measuring high voltage circuits, safely disabling the high voltage for vehicle servicing, and dissembling hybrid drivetrains.
Introduces diagnosis and repair of automotive electrical and electronic systems. Learners will develop the principles of basic electrical units and circuits, apply ohm’s law while interpreting wiring diagrams, and be introduced to the use electrical test equipment. Focusing on basic circuit concepts they will analyze customers concerns, diagnose basic lighting electrical circuits, research repair information, and verify completed repairs.
