In this course, learners will prepare a resume, cover letter, and post-interview thank you correspondence. They will also practice interview skills, such as greetings, introductions, questions for the interviewer, and appropriate attire and body language. learners will also distinguish between legal and illegal interview questions.
In this course, learners will prepare for the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles knowledge and sign tests for obtaining a driver's license. They will use vocabulary for parts of the interior and exterior of the motor vehicle, traffic signs, directions, and commands that may be used in the road test.
In this course, learners will prepare for the U.S. citizenship interview. They will prepare to answer all of the 100 history and government questions which may be asked as well as the written English portion of the interview.
Students will understand the local/state government structure, identify appropriate local/state government officials, list services provided by the local/state government, list their responsibilities as community members, and understand how to participate in their local/state government.
In this course, students will obtain a library card, navigate the library and its resources, use the checkout system, use the various services and activities the library offers and access information with relative ease from the major resources of the library.
In this course, students will locate schools in the community, learn the entry requirements for children to enter a school, fill out forms accurately, interact with school personnel appropriately, learn the names of children's teachers, understand the importance of memos sent home from school, learn how to get help reading school correspondence if necessary. Students will learn how to display children's work at work, understand report cards and reasonable expectations, understand attendance policies, learn how to report when family moves, understand basic parents' rights, know how to request special services and understand the importance and rules for extracurricular activities.
In this course, students will learn the basic banking services available to them, use cash and money orders safely, open and learn how to manage a checking and savings account, understand interest rates and credit, read bank statements accurately, fill out loan forms accurately, understand basic budgeting, and use credit wisely to establish credit rating.
In this course, students will know the locations and scope of local health care facilities, make and cancel appointments, fill out basic forms accurately, gain a basic understanding of what insurance benefits are, understand what the local immunization schedule is and where services are located, know when and how to use emergency care, understand the importance of following directions when using medical prescriptions, understand basic patients' rights, and ask for and interpreter when necessary.
