  • By teaching Advanced Cardiac Life Support (“ACLS”) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (“PALS”) methodologies and protocols, this course prepares the paramedic learner in the integration of comprehensive knowledge of causes and pathophysiology into the management of shock, respiratory failure, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest and peri-arrest states with an emphasis on early intervention to prevent respiratory and/or cardiac arrest if possible.

  • Provides participants with the foundational knowledge and essential skills required to effectively respond to a wide range of medical emergencies and accidents. It is specifically designed to prepare students for state certification as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in Wisconsin, including successful preparation for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) examinations. In addition to technical expertise, the course emphasizes the cultivation of professionalism, ethical conduct, and a steadfast dedication to safety within the field of emergency medical service.   • Prepares dental auxiliary students to respond proactively to dental emergencies, control infection, prevent disease, adhere to OSHA Standards and safely manage hazardous materials. Students also take patient vital signs and collect patient medical/dental histories. CPR certification is a prerequisite; students will be required to show proof of certification before beginning the course. This course is a WTCS aligned course required in both the Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistant programs. This course must be taken at NTC, no transfers, because the content of this course is specific for this program/site.
