WAUSAU, Wis. (June 23, 2026) — Northcentral Technical College (NTC) is pleased to announce the 2026 Film, Farm & Culture Fest of Wausau. FFCFW is an annual summer meeting place for audiences and young filmmakers to celebrate award-winning independent films selected from around the world.

“This year’s event will showcase six entertaining and thought-provoking films from around the world,” said Jila Nikpay, Videography Faculty at NTC. “We have also expanded our labs to include a screenwriting workshop led by the former Director of Education of the International Screenwriters’ Association; the workshop is free to the public.”

Film screenings will be held at the Woodson History Center (410 McIndoe Street, Wausau, WI 54403) from July 23 through August 1 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Film titles will be announced Sunday, July 12.

Film Screening Schedule

  • Thursday, July 23, Friday, July 24 & Saturday, July 25
  • Thursday, July 30, Friday, July 31 & Saturday, August 1

Additionally, there will be two production labs and a screenwriting workshop offered at NTC’s Studio 7.

The motion graphics lab will run July 20 through July 24. Participants will learn how to use Adobe After Effects to create basic animation with text and shapes. The short film lab will run July 27 through July 31. Participants will learn the ins and outs of writing, shooting and editing a short film. The screenwriting workshop will be Monday, July 20. Participants will develop their concept, build their characters and map their story’s structure using a professional framework.
