Each semester the College recognizes students for academic achievement. The honors include: the President’s List, Honors List, Honors, Gold Cord Award, Outstanding Graduate Award and Phi Theta Kappa.

Recognitions and Achievements

These recognitions are recorded on the student transcript of credits.

President’s List

Any student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and earning a 3.75 GPA or higher will achieve a place on the President’s List. This award is given each semester and is based on a noncumulative GPA.

High Honors

Any student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and earning a 3.50-3.74 GPA during a semester will achieve high honors standing during that semester. This award is given each semester and is based on a noncumulative GPA.

Honors

Any student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and earning a 3.00-3.49 GPA during a semester will achieve honors standing during that semester. This award is given each semester and is based on a noncumulative GPA.

Gold Cord Award

Any student graduating with a cumulative 3.50 GPA or higher will receive the Gold Cord Award.

Outstanding Graduate Award

Each semester, instructors in each program area select one outstanding graduate from each associate degree and technical diploma program. Outstanding graduates receive recognition at graduation.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

NTC has affiliated with Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society, to recognize the academic achievements of our students. To become a member, a student must earn a minimum cumulative 3.50 GPA and have earned at least 12 credits towards an associate degree.

Membership in Beta Rho Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa makes students eligible for a number of scholarships, as well as having a nationally recognized honor on their official academic record.
