NTC’s academic probation policy applies to all students who have 12 or more cumulative academic credits. A student will be placed on probation when their overall cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is less than 2.00. If a student is on probation prior to changing programs, they will remain on probation. While on probation, a student will be allowed to enroll in no more than 8 credits in a semester. If a student is on probation for two consecutive semesters, they will be placed on suspension for one semester. Upon return, a student will be on probation and allowed to enroll in no more than 8 credits in a semester. In order to avoid subsequent suspensions, a student must earn a term GPA of 2.0 or higher. A student will remain on probation until they have obtained a CGPA of 2.0 or higher. The length of subsequent suspensions will be two semesters.
