NTC must comply with the following waitlist policy when an academic program meets capacity and cannot continue to admit students for the particular term. This policy adheres to Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter TCS 10.

Applicants are offered the option to be added to a program waitlist when they are not admitted due to program capacity limitations. Applicants on the waitlist shall have priority over all other applicants in subsequent terms and be admitted to core classes based on admission priorities and successful completion of program academic preparedness requirements. Applicants on the waitlist are not guaranteed admission in the subsequent term as admittance is based on the number of applicants on the waitlist and waitlist admission priorities below.

  1. Application Completion Date: Students are ranked based on their application completion date, from earliest to latest date.
  2. Residency Status: In-district residents receive priority over non-district Wisconsin or Minnesota residents if the application is submitted by:
    • October 1 for programs starting in the summer term.
    • January 1 for programs starting in the fall term.
    • May 1 for programs starting in the spring term.
  3. Applicants residing within the NTC district who apply after the deadlines are then grouped with non-NTC district residents from Wisconsin or Minnesota and are sorted by application completion date.
    • Applications from non-Wisconsin or Minnesota residents are not eligible to be place on program waitlists and re-apply for subsequent terms.
    • Residency is based on your original program application, even if your address changes later.
    • NTC may require documentation to confirm residency.
