- Small Cutting Mat
- Rotary Cutter
- Add-a-Quarter Ruler (Available for purchase at Created Anew Designs)
- Small Cutting Ruler (6.5” x 12.5” ideal)
- Sewing Machine in working condition
- Glue (washable school glue or glue pen)
- Thread
- Scissors
- Seam Ripper
- Seam roller (suggested)

Required Kit to Purchase
Purchase the $15 Wonky Neighbor pattern after August 15th at www.createdanewdesigns.com for a downloaded pattern, or in person at Created Anew Designs, 316 Main Street, Mosinee, WI 54455 for a paper pattern. All patterns must be purchased and downloaded or picked up prior to Quilt College for pre-class homework.
Pre-Class Instructions
- All fabric prepped and cut to size.
- All pattern templates cut out ⅛” larger than dashed lines.
- All pattern templates folded on solid lines.
Machine Piecing — Crazy Patchwork Quilt Block
Taught by Mary Wilke of Sew Smart. Sewing Machine required.
Fabric
- Fabric scraps of various sizes (3” - 6” wide and up to 12” long) — the fabrics can be scrappy or coordinating
- Embroidered linen scraps or handkerchiefs to cut into pieces
- Scraps of lace
- Any other items you would like to add to your block
Basic Sewing Supplies
- Scissors, thread snips
- Pins
- Seam Ripper
- Marking utensils
- Stiletto
Sewing Machine/Supplies
- Sewing Machine in good working order (must sew straight stitch and zig zag stitch)
- Zig zag presser foot
- Applique sewing foot for decorative stitches
- Size 90/14 sharp point needles
- Size 100/16 Top Stitch needles
- Neutral cotton sewing thread (40 or 50 weight) that blends with your fabric choices. The bobbin thread will be the same for the entire project
- Assortment of decorative threads of various weights and colors for top stitching; variegated threads work well
Supplies Provided (No Cost)
- A preprinted stabilizer template
- Scrap bin of fabrics
- Extra decorative threads to try
Pre-Class Instructions
Pre-wind 2 bobbins with the same neutral thread used for block construction.

- Applique sewing foot for decorative stitches
- Size 80/12 sharp point needles
- Neutral cotton sewing thread
- Fine thread (such as Invisifil) for applique stitch

Kit includes fabric kit (your choice of color), template ruler and wooden creaser (pick up in Quilt College classroom day of class).
