Assists job seekers with finding employment and provides strategic resources in obtaining jobs within Marathon County.
Handshake is a statewide employment resource for students and alumni who attend or have attended a WI technical college. The site allows students and alumni to search for employment and internship opportunities, connect with employers, complete job applications, and view upcoming campus events. The Handshake site provides several benefits for its stakeholders.

As the manufacturing industry continues to grow, local businesses are teaming up to offer this free training opportunity designed to quickly grow the workforce. Get the skills and knowledge that you need for employment in manufacturing with the support you need to be successful, all without having to quit your current job.

The Salvation Army + Warming Centers
The Salvation Army provides community resources such as Job Training, After School Programs, Homeless Shelters, Food Pantries, etc. to those in need.

Provides public health care coverage for eligible Wisconsin residents.
Health Insurance Marketplace
Provides information about health insurance options for individuals and families, as well as small businesses. Insurance plans available at a reduced cost for those who are income- eligible.
Experiencing Food Insecurity?
Offers a share of food (2 big laundry baskets full) for a $20 donation on the 1st Tuesday of the month, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., at New Hope Community Church.
The Neighbors’ Place Food Pantry
Distributes donated and government commodity foods in Wausau 5 days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; Wednesday 1:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Northcentral Technical College’s (NTC) Dental Clinic offers affordable dental services to the community. Services are provided by Dental Hygiene students, under the supervision of instructors, and focus on preventative dental care to keep teeth healthy.

HealthFirst (Formerly Family Planning)
Provides high quality affordable and accessible reproductive and nutritional services to women and their families on a sliding fee scale.
Hope Life Center
Provides pregnancy testing, options counseling, testing and treatment for STDs (women only), abortion recovery support, pregnancy and early parenting education and adoption information. All services are free of charge.
Located in Medford, Abiding Care provides free pregnancy testing, options counseling, limited O.B. ultrasound services, educational resources and necessary referrals.

Mental Health Services
Students have access to free, on- demand mental health services that are accessible 24/7/365. These services are made possible through a partnership with The Virtual Care Group and include teletherapy services, as well as life coaching and on-demand crisis counseling. Provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crises resources for you or your loved ones.

Aging and Disability Resource Center
This is a great resource for people that are applying for Medicare/Medicaid/SSI/SSDI and they help with determining whether a person is eligible for long-term support services and other resources that people need.
