Covers the propane industry and natural gas gate and regulation stations, leak detection surveying, fire control, abnormal operating conditions and mitigation. Also covered are system uprating, mapping, leak repair to include steel mains, and gas line abandonment.
Introduces learners to overhead pole framing techniques. Builds on pole climbing techniques learned in Line Electrician Field Training 1 and introduces new techniques.
Discusses the importance of vehicle maintenance and inspections on commercial motor vehicles. Also introduces the techniques for performing proper maintenance and inspections.
Emphasizes quality press work on flexographic, offset, large format and digital presses. Also including inks, substrates, pressure adjustments and press maintenance. Specialty operations, such as die-cutting, are discussed. Learners will work within a production environment.

Provides the learner with a final opportunity to incorporate their cognitive, psychomotor, and affective skills through labs and scenario-based practice and evaluations prior to taking the National Registry examinations. Technical skills attainment (TSA) for each student will be compiled and/or documented within this course as required by the DHS-approved paramedic curriculum. Learners will also participate in a field capstone internship as identified by CoAEMSP accreditation in which the learner must be provided with an opportunity to serve as team leader in a variety of pre-hospital advanced life support emergency medical situations.
Prepares the learner to perform a complete urinalysis which includes physical, chemical and microscopic analysis. The learner will explore renal physiology and correlate urinalysis results with clinical conditions.
Perform short haircuts that include clipper cutting, shear over comb and finishing techniques such as point cutting, texturizing and blending. During class, learners will have the opportunity to practice the skills used to create/build graphic displays. Introduces the fundamental principles of alternating current (AC) and the effects of resistance, capacitance and inductance operating at 60 Hertz (Hz) single phase within the AC electrical and magnetic fields. Circuit analysis uses project based labs where students experience the practical application of Ohm’s, Watt’s, and Faraday’s laws. Learning experiences in IET 2 build upon those in IET 1 and will be continued and expanded upon in IET 3.

This course introduces the apprentice to the concepts of jig and fixture design as part of their apprenticeship related instruction. Topics include the basic elements of tool design, jig and fixture application, and the actual design of tooling.

The AHA’s PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. The goal of PALS is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

Prepares dental auxiliary students to respond proactively to dental emergencies, control infection, prevent disease, adhere to OSHA Standards and safely manage hazardous materials. Students also take patient vital signs and collect patient medical/dental histories. CPR certification is a prerequisite; students will be required to show proof of certification before beginning the course. This course is a WTCS aligned course required in both the Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistant programs. This course must be taken at NTC, no transfers, because the content of this course is specific for this program/site.
This clinical experience integrates all knowledge learned in the previous courses in transitioning to the role of the graduate nurse. The course promotes relatively independent clinical decisions, delegation, and works collaboratively with others to achieve client and organizational outcomes. This clinical course builds on and expands the technical/clinical skills student dental hygienists developed in Dental Hygiene Process II. In consultation with the instructor, students apply independent problem-solving skills in the course of providing comprehensive care for calculus case type I, II and III patients and case type 0, I, II and III patients. Dental Hygiene Process III introduces root detoxification using hand and ultra-sonic instruments, laser bacterial reduction, selection of dental implant prophylaxis treatment options and administration of chemotherapeutic agents. Students also adapt care plans in order to accommodate patients with special needs.
Prepares dental auxiliary students to operate radiographic equipment and expose bitewing, periapical, extra oral, and occlusal images. Emphasis is placed on protection against x-ray hazards. Students also produce, mount, and evaluate dental images for diagnostic value. This course also provides the background in radiographic theory required for students to make informed decisions and adjustments.
This course focuses on the development of advanced clinical skills across the lifespan. Content includes advanced intravenous skills, blood product administration, chest tube systems, basic electrocardiogram interpretation and nasogastric/feeding tube insertion.
This clinical experience applies nursing concepts and therapeutic nursing interventions to groups of patients across the lifespan. It also provides an introduction to leadership, management, and team building.
This clinical course builds on and expands the technical/clinical skills student dental hygienists developed in Dental Hygiene Process III. With feedback from the instructor, students manage all aspects of cases in the course of providing comprehensive care for calculus case type 0, 1, 2, and 3 patients and for perio case type 0 I, II, and III patients. Emphasizes maximization of clinical efficiency and effectiveness. Prepares student dental hygienists to demonstrate their clinical skills in a formal examination situation.
Introduces Dental Hygiene students to the basic technical/clinical skills required of practicing Dental Hygienists including use of basic dental equipment, examination of patients and procedures within the dental unit. Under the direct supervision of an instructor, students integrate hands-on skills with entry-level critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students learn to distinguish between balanced and unbalanced diets and to construct diets that meet the needs of patients with compromised dental/oral health. This course elaborates upon the basic concepts of health and illness as presented in Nursing Fundamentals. It applies theories of nursing in the care of patients through the lifespan, utilizing problem solving and critical thinking.
