Description

Develops skill in shielded metal arc welding. Learners use titania, low hydrogen and cellulose "stick" electrodes to complete fillet and groove welds in all positions. Learners complete a 3G bend test conducted per AWS D1.1 - Structural Steel Code.

Pre/Corequisites: 10-442-172 SAFETY IN MANUFACTURING and 10-442-101 INTRODUCTION TO WELDING. Condition: Accepted into a Welding Associate Degree or Technical Diploma or the Manufacturing Technician Technical Diploma.
