Program Description

The Floor Covering Installation Certificate provides hands-on training in the principles and techniques of installing resilient, hardwood, tile, and carpet flooring. Designed to align with industry standards, this program offers a comprehensive introduction to the flooring installation profession, preparing students for a variety of careers in the field. Learners will gain practical experience in real-world lab environments, using industry-standard tools and materials to develop essential skills. Coursework emphasizes technical expertise, worksite safety, and professional best practices to support job acquisition, retention, and career advancement.

  • Prepare Subfloors for Installation – Assess, level, and prepare subfloors for different flooring types, ensuring a stable and durable installation.
  • Apply Adhesives and Fasteners – Understand and correctly use adhesives, nails, and other fastening methods for various flooring materials.
  • Follow Safety Protocols – Work in compliance with OSHA and industry safety standards, including proper handling of tools, materials, and adhesives.
