In her keynote address “Leading from Where You Are”, Heather Martell will speak on the importance of building your foundation; fueling your inner fire and staying positively ablaze; empowering yourself and others; and how you shine while leading from wherever you are.

10:30am "Boosting Productivity" pt. 1, Sam Buemi

This workshop introduces the psychological nature of (or lack thereof) productivity and examines how habits can cultivate a greater routine. We will explore productivity as it relates to interacting with others and working with teams, discovering the role time and distraction play in productivity and finally, several tools to use to increase productivity skills.

In her presentation “Self-Care and Self-Compassion: Mindfulness is the Key”, Heather Martell will speak on the importance of treating ourselves with kindness and care; how developing mindfulness habits can lead to greater self-awareness; and how our interconnectedness leads to greater compassion for all (yourself included!).

Meet our Presenters

Branch Manager at Peoples State Bank Weston by day – and author all other hours of her life - Heather Martell is also the Founder of The Place of H, where she puts her advocacy-based leadership to work empowering others. Possessing the talent to engage, Heather has an enthusiastic personality that generates a contagious, positive energy wherever she goes. Never afraid of a microphone or the opportunity to advocate for others, Heather is a two-time best-selling author and creator, an accomplished speaker, corporate trainer, empowerment coach, and Laughing Soul Yoga instructor.

In November 2022, Heather was the recipient of the ATHENA Leadership Award in a ceremony hosted by the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce. She holds a mastery level certification in Leadership and Teams and a degree of Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management. Her strong relationship skills lead Heather to great success teaching leadership development, as well as strategies to create and maintain effective teams. Heather's passion for coaching others to know their power and their worth is a cornerstone in her life.

Dr. Sam Buemi has taught in various school settings over the past 15 years, the last 10 at Northcentral Technical College in sociology and psychology. Sam received his Master of Arts degree in Sociology from Kent State University and his Doctoral degree in Psychology with a specialty in research from Capella University. His focus in teaching and writing is turning complex material into easy-to-use and empowering information.

Sam coaches students and working professionals on the topics of change management and emotional intelligence, topics which he writes about in his blog at SamBuemi.com, and has self-published The Power of Us: 10 Secrets of Success.
