This course will explore the basics of safe mushroom identification for numerous spring species. There are great edible mushrooms in the spring. We will look at velvet foot, pheasant's back, wood corals, and of course morels! The second part of the class is a field trip to the woods to use the identification skills in the real world.

Meet the Presenter

Tavis standing outside with trees behind him, while holding some mushrooms in his right hand while wearing a shirt that reads My Lucky Shrooming ShirtTavis is a professional mycologist, commercial forager, and cultivator from northwestern Wisconsin.  He has been studying fungi for most of his life and teaches several mycology classes for Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College.  He has been a commercial mushroom forager for many years and has been cultivating mushrooms on a large scale for about 6 years. An attendee must notify NTC of a cancellation prior to the beginning of the event in order to have fees removed or a refund issued. Attendees who do not attend without notifying Continuing Education will be responsible for payment of all course fees and will not be eligible for a refund.
