Industry Training Classes for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027
  • Mondays and Thursdays – any time after mid-morning
  • Based on feedback, looking at 1. Machine Set-Up and 2. Measurement/Inspection to start with

Marketing Updates
  • NTC Marketing are working on refreshing our marketing materials
  • Already in contact with a few industry people based on previous committee discussions
  • Planning ‘Day in the Life’ features of machinists
  • Working to increase social media focus on machining; highlighting the ‘cool factor’, visuals, modern working environments and technology
  • Looking at a name change for marketing purposes. Some options include:
    • One Year Program:
      • Machine Operator
      • Precision Machining
    • Two Year Program:
      • Computer Aided Machinist
      • CNC Machinist
      • Computer Aided Machining Technology

Any other suggestions by the committee?

The one-semester diploma will remain ‘Basic Machining’

Student Sponsorship
  • Good support from the committee when asked (eight responded positively)
  • What do we mean by ‘sponsorship’?
  • Some different options:
    • Tuition Reimbursement 
    • Apprenticeship-Like
    • Part-Time Employment / Full-Time Student
    • Part-Time Student / Full-Time Employment

What would seem the best sort of option(s) for our industry partners?  We want to encourage as many students as possible for Fall 2026.
