WAUSAU, Wis. (June 2, 2026) — CoVantage Cares Foundation has awarded a $7,500 grant to the Northcentral Technical College (NTC) Property Foundation to support the construction of Timberwolf Cabins, an innovative housing initiative at NTC’s Antigo Campus.

The grant will help fund initial infrastructure, construction and furnishings for the Timberwolf Cabins, which are designed to provide affordable, on-campus housing for students enrolled in high-demand, hands-on training programs.

Timberwolf Cabins will primarily serve learners in forestry, wood technology and skilled trades programs at NTC, including those training at the college’s Wood Technology Center of Excellence and commercial-scale sawmill. The cabins will also support students participating in short-term training or programs and, when available, provide housing for community partners such as traveling healthcare professionals.

“Support from CoVantage Cares plays a critical role in expanding access to education and workforce training in our region,” said Vicki Jeppesen, executive director of the NTC Property Foundation. “By helping fund Timberwolf Cabins, this investment removes a key barrier for students and workers seeking to advance their skills in essential industries.”

The Timberwolf Cabins project aims to construct up to five fully furnished units, each designed for one- to two-person occupancy and equipped with a private bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living space and laundry. The development addresses a growing need for short-term, on-campus housing for individuals participating in intensive training programs in Antigo.

The broader project seeks to construct new cabins each year as additional funds are raised, supporting both traditional students and working professionals pursuing career advancement.

CoVantage Cares Foundation supports organizations that make communities better places to live, work and raise families. Its investment in the Timberwolf Cabins project underscores a commitment to strengthening regional workforce development and economic vitality.
