WAUSAU, Wis. (October 28, 2026) — Northcentral Technical College (NTC) and the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point at Wausau opened the doors to a new Advising + Transfer Center, Wednesday. The center serves as a student support hub for The Purple and Blue Advantage co-location partnership between the institutions.

“Our goal is to create opportunities for students to stay and thrive in north central Wisconsin,” said NTC President Jeannie Worden. “An associate degree from NTC prepares students for meaningful careers, while partnerships like this one with UW-Stevens Point create affordable, seamless pathways for those who want to continue their education and earn a bachelor’s degree. Together, we’re helping nearly 300 students plan their futures right here in our communities.”

NTC welcomed UWSP at Wausau to its Wausau campus in August, marking a new way to serve students who would like to complete a bachelor’s degree locally. By partnering, both colleges are expanding opportunities for students through pathways designed in areas such as biology, health science and wellness, nursing and psychology to name a few.

From state-of-the-art labs and academic support to extracurricular activities, students from both colleges can thrive in an environment designed for success.

“Our partnership is built on the understanding that our strengths complement each other,” said UWSP Chancellor Bob Brinkmann. “Together, we are meeting the challenges of today’s students, who are balancing work, family responsibilities and finances while preparing for careers in an evolving economy. We are also meeting the needs of employers who need a highly skilled workforce right here in northcentral Wisconsin.”
