(WAUSAU, Wis.) – Northcentral Technical College’s (NTC) Workforce Training + Professional Development division has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration to enhance safety across Wisconsin’s mining industry.

With this grant, NTC will provide more than $450,000 in training services designed to reduce risk and reinforce safe practices for those working in mining and mine-related operations. These funds will support essential training programs that ensure compliance with federal safety standards and promote best practices in the mining industry.

"This grant helps us provide the critical training and education that keeps Wisconsin’s miners safe, ensuring they return home to their families each day,” said Brad Gast, Dean of Workforce Training at NTC. “With this funding, we will continue our strong partnership with Wisconsin’s mining community to advance safety and protect those who perform this vital work.”
