Medical professionals who respond to cardiovascular emergencies in and out of the hospital enhance their treatment knowledge and skills through the AHA’s ACLS training courses.
Through classroom lecture, on-campus lab, and WI Department of Justice 720 Academy integration exercises students will learn and apply skills addressed in the following Phase III topics of the Department of Justice 720 Academy curriculum framework: Ethics II: Moral Reasoning and Professional Conduct, Cultural Competence II, Interrogations, Testifying in Court, Crimes III and Physical Evidence Collection.
Through classroom lecture, and on-campus lab and WI Department of Justice integration exercises, students will learn and apply skills addressed in the following Phase III topics from the WI Department of Justice 720 Academy curriculum framework: Traffic Law Enforcement - Core and Radar, Traffic Crash Investigations & Incident Management, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (OMVWI), Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST), Hazardous Materials and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), Incident Command Systems and NIMS, and Report Writing.
Develop a thorough understanding of the statics and mechanics principles that are of paramount importance for learners in the engineering and technical programs. Mechanics is the branch of physical science that deals with state of rest or motion under the action of forces. Mechanics is the foundation for most engineering sciences and an indispensable prerequisite to most engineering or technical courses. In this course, you will develop a thorough understanding of the statics and mechanics principles that are of paramount importance for students in the engineering and technical programs. You will then apply these mechanics principles in various assignments and projects.
This comprehensive training provides an introduction to tactical skills. Students will be introduced to basic SWAT topics, tactics and techniques including a historical overview of SWAT, team organization and structure, resolution of barricaded suspect situations, covert individual and team movement, searches and room clearing, chemical agents, less-lethal options, warrant service and multiple field training exercises. This is a hands-on course in which students practice tactics and techniques in the field as well as in the classroom.
The Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) - Full Session includes the orientation, two (2) timed course practices and a CPAT test. During the orientation session, we will explain the testing process and how the equipment works. You will have the chance to ask questions and try the testing equipment. The pass rate of those who attend the orientations is higher than for those who do not, so it is highly recommended that you attend at least one of these orientations. The two practice tests are the same and we attempt to run the practice test under actual testing conditions. If the test is run under actual testing conditions and you successfully complete the test this is considered a PASS and you will not need to attend any further testing.
The Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) - Test Out is for a ONE-TIME try to challenge the CPAT course. Acknowledgment and waiver of CPAT orientation and/or conditioning period and/or timed practice runs will need to submitted.
This course is designed to review and develop fundamental concepts of mathematics in the areas of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, measurement and data. Algebra topics emphasize simplifying algebraic expressions, solving linear equations and inequalities with one variable, solving proportions and percent applications. Geometry and trigonometry topics include; finding areas and volumes of geometric figures, applying similar and congruent triangles, applying Pythagorean Theorem, and solving right triangles using trigonometric ratios. Measurement topics emphasize the application of measurement concepts and conversion techniques within and between U.S. customary and metric system to solve problems. Data topics emphasize data organization and summarization skills, including: frequency distributions, central tendency, relative position and measures of dispersion. Special emphasis is placed on problem solving, critical thinking and logical reasoning, making connections, and using calculators.
Focuses on the various components that comprise the heavy duty drive train of heavy duty trucks and tractors. Learners will service and adjust heavy duty clutches. Learners will also review overhaul procedures on axles and differentials, as well as service procedures for driveshaft components.
Instructs learners on the fundamentals of heavy duty transmissions. Learners will overhaul manual and automatic shifting transmissions, troubleshoot and repair fully automatic and automatic shifting manual transmissions and read wiring and air schematics.

Presents the applications and theory of basic physics principles. This course emphasizes problem-solving, laboratory investigation and applications. Topics include unit conversion and analysis, vectors, translational and rotational kinematics, translational and rotational dynamics, heat and temperature and harmonic motion and waves.
Professional Development, Growth, Flexibility, and Empathy are words that are more common in today’s workforce than ever before. Using the DiSC Personality Type Assessment, students will participate in a highly interactive workshop to help them understand their own behavior patterns, appreciate the diverse styles of their colleagues, and improve team dynamics and communication. This workshop will explain the four primary DiSC styles (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Conscientiousness) and provide an overview of the characteristics associated with each and increase self-awareness by gaining a deeper understanding of your personality type and the strengths and challenges it presents to your growth.
Introduces students to the fundamental sociological concepts, including sociological perspectives, research methods, the significance of culture in society, and the socialization process. Other topics include deviance, the impact of groups on behavior, societal inequities, global changes, the role of social institutions, and social stratification
Requires medical assistant students to integrate and apply knowledge and skills from all previous medical assistant courses in actual ambulatory health care settings. Learners perform medical assistant administrative, clinical, and laboratory duties under the supervision of trained mentors to effectively transition to the role of a medical assistant. This is a supervised, unpaid, clinical experience.
This course develops apprentice skills regarding metallurgic concepts. Apprentices will compare various metals and their applications, apply metallurgic techniques to work processes, test metals for hardness, and examine heat treating applications.
Prepares learners to perform basic nursing skills under the supervision of a nurse for job entry as a nursing assistant or a home health aide (HHA) in health care agencies. Face-to-face and hybrid classroom, campus lab and clinical instruction are offered at various nursing homes and hospitals throughout the district. Students need to submit an application and complete background check.
The AHA’s PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. The goal of PALS is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.
Focuses on the completion of respiratory therapy competencies and transition to employment. Emphasis is placed on promotion of evidence-based practice using established clinical practice guidelines and published research for its relevance to patient care.

The DOJ Phase III Written Examination will be administered in this course.
Course compares common welding processes and develops apprentice skills related to welding, cutting, heating and using oxy-gas. Welding with arc, MIG and TIG is included, along with common cutting and joining techniques.
This course will explore the basics of safe mushroom identification for numerous spring species. There are great edible mushrooms in the spring. We will look at velvet foot, pheasant's back, wood corals, and of course morels! The second part of the class is a field trip to the woods to use the identification skills in the real world.
Develops writing skills which include prewriting, drafting, revising and editing. A variety of writing assignments are designed to help the learner analyze audience and purpose, research and organize ideas and format and design documents based on subject matter and content. Also develops critical reading and thinking skills through the analysis of a variety of written documents.
