Safety is always a top priority when running a farm. Ensure that your child is properly trained to handle farm equipment in a safe way.
This course provides youth between the ages of 12 to 16 with the necessary requirements to be certified for compliance under Wisconsin Act 455 to operate tractors or self-propelled machinery for their own family on public roads. This course also meets the requirements for the U.S. Department of Labor Agriculture Hazards Occupation Order for youth 14-15 years of age employed on a farm other than their family farm.
This program includes:
- Instruction for safe operation of tractors and farm machinery
- Hazard recognition and correction
- General farm safety knowledge
- The importance of a positive attitude toward safety
