Meet Our Presenters

Dallas Hall is an Application Engineer, specializing in technology for monitoring and railroad survey. He worked for 7 years at Trimble Inc. There he occupied support and sales roles with a variety of technologies, including Real-time GNSS Networks, Monitoring, and Railroad Survey. In 2024 he left Trimble to pursue a role with Seiler Geospatial, where he has the opportunity to work more closely with the users of these solutions.

John Matonich, PS, is retired from ROWE Professional Services Company, a firm specializing in consulting engineering, surveying, planning, landscape architecture, aerial photogrammetry in the Midwest and across the country. John joined ROWE in 1981. He was named a principal in 1992, promoted to president in 1997, and to chief executive officer in 2001 as well as Chairmen in 2006. John retired from management of the firm in 2016, but continues to serve on the firm’s Board of Directors. John is licensed as a professional surveyor in Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. He served as president of the National Society of Professional Surveyors, (NSPS) in 2009-2010, and served as an At-Large Director and Treasurer of the Board of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors for 14 years. John is a past president of the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS). He also served as chairman of the Government Affairs Committee for the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) headquartered in Washington, D.C for over 20 years until 2015.  John was voted as a Fellow Member of the NSPS, ACSM and MSPS organizations.

Forrest Van Asten is a Water Management Engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, serving as the regional Dam Safety and Floodplain Engineer for the North Central portion of the state. In this role, he regulates, inspects, and permits dams and dam projects, and assists local municipalities and counties with the administration of their Floodplain Zoning Ordinances. He also provides technical assistance and reviews Flood Studies for NR116 compliance on behalf of these communities. Forrest has held this position with the WDNR since 2020, following 13 years of engineering experience in the transportation field in Wisconsin. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin.

Cancellation Policy

An attendee must notify NTC of a cancellation prior to the beginning of the event in order to have fees removed or a refund issued. Attendees who do not attend without notifying Continuing Education will be responsible for payment of all course fees and will not be eligible for a refund.
