Technical Diploma

Prepares learners to test for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Motor Vehicles Division's Commercial Learner's Permit and Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Limited lecture and simulation will be used to give learners a solid foundation. Hands-on learning will be emphasized to teach safe driving techniques, shifting, turning, inspections and backing maneuvers.

Program Location

The entirety of this program takes place at NTC’s CDL Training center at 1204 W. Taylor St. in Merrill, WI. When applying for this certificate you will need to select Wausau as the campus.

Legal Citizenship

You must provide proof of legal status or citizenship to obtain a CDL through this program

Federal Medical Card

This program requires proof of a Federal Medical (FedMed) card, which is issued after you complete a Department Of Transportation (DOT) physical with a registered, certified medical examiner. Students will also be subject to pre-enrollment drug and alcohol screening, as well as random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident screening.

Maintaining a valid and clean driving record is important for your success in this industry.
