The Therapeutic Massage Center is home to Northcentral Technical College’s Therapeutic Massage Technical Diploma and is designed to give students the knowledge, skills and hands-on experience necessary to excel in massage therapy.

Warm Bamboo Tools

Warm bamboo massage utilizes heated bamboo tools of various sizes to knead and roll muscles. This technique allows for deeper pressure with less strain on the therapist’s hands and wrists, promoting better ergonomics and reducing fatigue. Massage Cupping Sets

Massage cupping is a technique in which cups are placed on the skin to create suction. This helps to lift and separate soft tissue, helping to release tension. Learning massage cupping equips students with a versatile skill that can help alleviate muscle tightness and complement traditional massage techniques.

Hot Stone Sets

Hot stone massage involves using smooth, heated stones as extensions of the therapist’s hands. This technique helps to relax muscles deeply, allowing for a more effective release of tension and promoting overall relaxation. By learning hot stone massage, students gain expertise in providing therapeutic warmth and enhancing the client’s experience through a soothing, comforting treatment.

Massage Tables

The space includes six massage tables of different brands and types to give students practice in various settings with different equipment. Students have the opportunity to practice on portable massage tables, stationary massage tables and electric lift tables with tilt capabilities.

Anatomical Models & Charts

Understanding the human body is fundamental for massage therapists. Students gain a deeper understanding of muscles, bones and the body’s systems, improving their ability to provide targeted and effective massages. To aid in this aspect of learning, students are provided detailed anatomical models and charts.

Massage Chairs

Massage chairs are becoming increasingly popular in various settings. The Therapeutic Massage Center has a variety of massage chairs that allow students to master the art of chair massage techniques. This skill is valuable for providing quick and effective massages in offices, events and public spaces.

Services Offered

Please note each week, specific massage styles are offered at designated times. This provides the opportunity to enjoy a 60-minute Swedish massage one week and a 90-minute hot stone massage the next, for example. The schedule ensures that each student gains valuable experience in different techniques.

Swedish Massage (60 Minute)

This technique employs long, smooth strokes to ease tension and promote relaxation. Students will tailor the pressure to your preferences using light to medium pressure, providing a hands-on learning experience while you unwind and destress.

Deep Tissue Massage (60 or 90 Minute)

Experience targeted muscle therapy; this method focuses on reaching deeper layers of muscle tissue to address chronic tension and knots. Students will apply firm pressure and deliberate strokes to alleviate muscle tightness, offering a therapeutic session designed for relief and relaxation.

Hot Stone Massage (90 Minute)

Using heated basalt stones to massage the body, this treatment aids in deep muscle relaxation. Combined with traditional massaging techniques, students provide a holistic approach to tension relief and relaxation, allowing you to experience a blend of soothing warmth and therapeutic touch.

Therapeutic Massage (60 or 90 Minute)

Tailored to address your unique needs, students blend various modalities such as Swedish, deep tissue and trigger point therapy.

Pricing & Payment Information

60 minute massages — $40, 90 minute massages — $55. Cash, check and credit card are accepted.

Intake Process

Upon arrival, a massage therapy student will greet the client. Payment will be accepted prior to or after the massage. Clients will complete a health history form, and the student will discuss health conditions and medications that may be pertinent to the massage. They will help ensure the client’s safety and comfort. Please allow an additional 30 minutes for the intake forms and post-massage feedback form.

Cancellation Policy

A 24 hours’ notice is requested if a client needs to cancel to allow time to find a replacement.
