Learners use Microsoft Visio to create diagrams that illustrate how entities are related. Additional topics include eliminating data redundancy, explaining structures of relational tables, and compiling a data dictionary.
Learners describe primary keys and how to select them. Learners explain normalization and its role in the database design process. Learners apply normalization rules to evaluate and correct table structures. Learners use SQL Server and retrieve information from data tables. This course prepares students to successfully complete the ServSafe Manager exam with 2 hours of instructor led exam prep and completion of the standardized exam. The course will cover key concepts, regulations, and certification requirements. Note: Due to frequent changes in food safety regulations that are included on the exam, it is strongly recommended that students take the full certification course to ensure successful completion of the exam and license renewal.
Group Dynamics is an alcohol/drug education course for those persons convicted of operation while intoxicated (OWI) and who are identified as irresponsible users of alcohol and/or drugs by an assessment agency. The main goal of this course is to develop an individualized plan to modify or eliminate inappropriate behaviors and attitudes related to drinking and driving. This course is open only to those who have had a court-ordered assessment from an approved assessment agency.
Wisconsin’s Underage Alcohol & Other Drugs Education Program is designed to promote the well-being of individuals under 21 years of age who have been cited for alcohol and other drug-related violations. These violations may include Juvenile Alcohol (possession, consumption, purchasing or attempting to purchase) and Underage Alcohol Operation (Absolute Sobriety Law violation), among others. The program’s goals are to educate young people about the risks and consequences of alcohol and other drug use and to help them to develop skills and a personal action plan to avoid future problems.

Areas of concentration are crimes against children, children in need of protection and services, and the juvenile justice code. Analyzes the role of law enforcement and other agencies in responding to and investigating juvenile procedures. Methods and models of prevention and rehabilitation are evaluated.
Requires medical assistant students to integrate and apply knowledge and skills from all previous medical assistant courses in actual ambulatory health care settings. Learners perform medical assistant administrative, clinical, and laboratory duties under the supervision of trained mentors to effectively transition to the role of a medical assistant. This is a supervised, unpaid, clinical experience.

Students need to submit an application and complete background check.
The qualified Nutrient Management Plan is a best management practice that serves as a tool to help make sound management decisions. These decisions can lead to maximized production and profit. The class will cover plan implementation using nutrient management computer software. Upon completion of the class, producers will have a qualified plan that meets state requirements, as well as available cost-share opportunities. It is highly recommended that you have current soil tests meeting UW-Publication A2100.
Provides instruction to develop a nutrient management plan that will meet the NRCS 590 Standard requirements. Participants will enter soil test information into the software program SNAP-Plus and develop a plan based on the data provided. This course is intended for students who have already completed the Nutrient Management Planning 12-hour full course.
Focuses on performing the mathematical calculations routinely used in laboratory settings. The learner will explore the concepts of quality control and quality assurance in the laboratory.
The Traffic Safety (Point Reduction) class is designed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to review basic safe driving concepts and may be attended by anyone. Emphasis will be placed on how to develop a personal change plan to reduce the risk of traffic violations and crashes. Upon successful completion of the class, the student may request a three (3) point reduction of the demerit points on their license. NOTE: This course can be taken for point reduction purposes once every three years.
