Provides participants with the foundational knowledge and essential skills required to effectively respond to a wide range of medical emergencies and accidents. It is specifically designed to prepare students for state certification as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in Wisconsin, including successful preparation for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) examinations. In addition to technical expertise, the course emphasizes the cultivation of professionalism, ethical conduct, and a steadfast dedication to safety within the field of emergency medical service. Graduates emerge well-equipped to meet the rigorous standards of both state and national certification.
Pre/co-requisites: Current Healthcare Provider CPR or plans to obtain Healthcare Provider CPR in 30-531-301 Emergency Medical Responder/ Emergency Medical Technician - Part 1. - AND - Completion of 30-531-301 Emergency Medical Responder/ Emergency Medical Technician - Part 1 within one year of start date, - OR - currently enrolled in 30-531-301 Emergency Medical Responder/ Emergency Medical Technician - Part 1 - OR - or current State of WI Emergency Medical Responder License.
Group Dynamics is an alcohol/drug education course for those persons convicted of operation while intoxicated (OWI) and who are identified as irresponsible users of alcohol and/or drugs by an assessment agency. The main goal of this course is to develop an individualized plan to modify or eliminate inappropriate behaviors and attitudes related to drinking and driving. This course is open only to those who have had a court-ordered assessment from an approved assessment agency.
This course is a hands on cookie decorating class. Learners will ice, decorate, and enjoy holiday cookies. This course will provide 16 holiday cookies for the learner to decorate, take home and enjoy! Instructor will provide fun designs for the students to practice their skills. This class is a good way to decorate cookies without the mess of decorating.
Wisconsin’s Underage Alcohol & Other Drugs Education Program is designed to promote the well-being of individuals under 21 years of age who have been cited for alcohol and other drug-related violations. These violations may include Juvenile Alcohol (possession, consumption, purchasing or attempting to purchase) and Underage Alcohol Operation (Absolute Sobriety Law violation), among others. The program’s goals are to educate young people about the risks and consequences of alcohol and other drug use and to help them to develop skills and a personal action plan to avoid future problems.
Requires medical assistant students to integrate and apply knowledge and skills from all previous medical assistant courses in actual ambulatory health care settings. Learners perform medical assistant administrative, clinical, and laboratory duties under the supervision of trained mentors to effectively transition to the role of a medical assistant. This is a supervised, unpaid, clinical experience.
This course is provided by MSHA approved instructors and covers 8 complete hours of Mine Health and Safety topics including first aid, current MSHA changes, miners' rights and other relevant topics. Attendees will come from the mining industry, suppliers, vendors and contractors to the mining industry, logistics companies that do truck driving at mine sites, gravel pits, quarries, and companies that do excavation at mine sites for aggregate.
Prepares learners to perform basic nursing skills under the supervision of a nurse for job entry as a nursing assistant or a home health aide (HHA) in health care agencies. Face-to-face and hybrid classroom, campus lab and clinical instruction are offered at various nursing homes and hospitals throughout the district. Students need to submit an application and complete background check.
The qualified Nutrient Management Plan is a best management practice that serves as a tool to help make sound management decisions. These decisions can lead to maximized production and profit. The class will cover plan implementation using nutrient management computer software. Upon completion of the class, producers will have a qualified plan that meets state requirements, as well as available cost-share opportunities. It is highly recommended that you have current soil tests meeting UW-Publication A2100.
Provides instruction to develop a nutrient management plan that will meet the NRCS 590 Standard requirements. Participants will enter soil test information into the software program SNAP-Plus and develop a plan based on the data provided. This course is intended for students who have already completed the Nutrient Management Planning 12-hour full course.
The Traffic Safety (Point Reduction) class is designed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to review basic safe driving concepts and may be attended by anyone. Emphasis will be placed on how to develop a personal change plan to reduce the risk of traffic violations and crashes. Upon successful completion of the class, the student may request a three (3) point reduction of the demerit points on their license. NOTE: This course can be taken for point reduction purposes once every three years.
