This course prepares the student dental hygienist to work within the scope of dental hygiene practice to manage anxiety and pain for dental patients. Students learn to prepare and administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide safely. The course also addresses the recommendation of alternative pain control measures.

This 36-hour course prepares the participant to be able to perform aerial fire apparatus driving, positioning, operating and testing functions at a minimum nationally recognized level. The targeted audience is individuals who have completed the Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator- Pumper course. This course is designed to provide the Driver/Operator-Aerial candidate with the information needed to meet the job performance requirements (JPRs) in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1002, Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications, Chapters 4 and 6.
Prepares the student dental hygienist to determine when to consult, treat or refer clients with various disease, infection or physiological conditions. Students learn to recognize the signs, causes and implications of common pathological conditions including inflammatory responses, immune disorders, genetic disorders, developmental disorders of tissues and cysts, oral tissue trauma and neoplasm of the oral cavity.
This course provides plumbing apprentices with an introduction to green applications. Apprentices will be instructed on how to identify, install and maintain a variety of green products and systems. They will apply the Wisconsin Plumbing Code to various installations. This introduction will give an apprentice the basic knowledge to study for a variety of green certifications.

This is a supervised, unpaid, clinical experience.
Prepares learners to perform basic nursing skills under the supervision of a nurse for job entry as a nursing assistant or a home health aide (HHA) in health care agencies. Face-to-face and hybrid classroom, campus lab and clinical instruction are offered at various nursing homes and hospitals throughout the district. Students need to submit an application and complete background check.
Prepares student dental hygienists to counsel patients about diet and its impact on oral health. Students learn to distinguish between balanced and unbalanced diets and to construct diets that meet the needs of patients with compromised dental/oral health. Students also learn to counsel patients about the effect of eating disorders on dental health.
Prepares student dental hygienists to assess the periodontal health of patients, plan prevention and treatment of periodontal disease and to evaluate the effectiveness of periodontal treatment plans. Emphasis is placed on the recognition of the signs and causes of periodontal disease and on selection of treatment modalities that minimize risk and restore periodontal health.
This second level clinical course continues to prepare radiography students to perform radiologic procedures on patients with considerable direct and limited indirect supervision. Students apply radiation protection and standard precautions in the production of radiographic images in a health care setting while adhering to legal and ethical guidelines. An emphasis of the course is the development of communication and critical thinking skills appropriate to the clinical setting.
This fifth level clinical course prepares radiography students to perform radiologic procedures on patients with limited direct and mainly indirect supervision. Students apply radiation protection and standard precautions in the production of radiographic images in a health care setting while adhering to legal and ethical guidelines. Students are encouraged to demonstrate independent judgment in the performance of clinical competencies.
Continued development of Respiratory Therapy clinical skills including respiratory therapeutics. Focuses on monitoring, analyzing and interpreting data to make appropriate modifications in patient care. Emphasis is placed on promotion of evidence-based practice using established clinical practice guidelines and published research for its relevance to patient care.

Provides a transition from the academic to the clinical setting. Learners integrate the surgical technologist skills as they apply to various surgical procedures.
Further experience in a clinical setting allows the student to continue to improve technical skills while accepting more responsibilities during surgical procedures.
During this clinical course the student will function relatively independently. Serves as a transition from a student perspective to an employee by utilizing advanced skills for an entry level Surgical Technologist.
