Laboratory activities include examining and identifying plant cells and plant structures using microscopes, plant models and live plants. Plant structures and their functions are discussed in relevance to production practices. Learners will conduct a plant-based research project using the Scientific Method. Plant taxonomy is covered in this course, and learners will gain the necessary skills to identify important garden, specialty, and agronomic crops in Wisconsin.
