Tempered glass, otherwise known as crash glass, is a versatile material that when used as an overlay adds shimmer to an acrylic painting. Students will use tempered glass, as well as some precut stained glass pieces if desired, over an acrylic paint creation to produce compositions filled with unexpected visual interest.
This class will explore watercolor painting techniques and color application. Students will have hands-on experience in experimenting with pigments and masking methods.
In this class you will create a simple, small pastel painting using primarily Nupastels supplemented with Rembrandt & Sennelier. Suede mat board will be used as a substrate. Pastels are very forgiving as you can paint over an area several times to achieve a successful art piece. All materials are included. Class time will consist of pastel product information & technique demonstrations. Students will also create & experiment with this fun medium.

Explore welding and metal fabrication with hands-on experiences while examining the intersection of art, community, and public spaces. Students will work together to design, fabricate, and install a public art piece in the community. 3D modelling software, CNC laser and plasma equipment, CNC forming equipment, welders, and various hand tools will be used. Additionally, the course will delve into logistical aspects of public art projects including funding, partnership development, project management, and presentation skills.
