Examines HR analytics from forming a hypothesis through analyzing data, to communicating and evaluating findings. Learners will practice utilizing analytics to make data-informed decisions about organizational interventions.
Provides students with the opportunity to synthesize and apply knowledge gained throughout the Human Resources program. Students develop an integrated HR strategy and demonstrate competency across workforce planning, talent development, total rewards, employment law, and employee relations. Through a final project and reflective work, students evaluate the effectiveness of HR strategies and prepare for transition into the workforce.
The Hydraulics and Pneumatics course is customized for Industrial Electricians and relates the basics of hydraulic/pneumatic theory and hydraulic/pneumatic components. Safety and the interrelationship between hydraulic/pneumatic power with electrical control are emphasized.
This course provides instruction to apprentices concerning many aspects of inspecting, servicing, and troubleshooting hydraulic systems and components. Apprentices will learn safety related issues and be taught proper safety procedures for working with hydraulic systems and components.
Explores the fundamentals of hydroponics and growing plants using water as a growing medium. Hands-on learning activities include growing and maintaining plants in an indoor hydroponic growing facility, a bato bucket system, and vertical hydroponic gardens. Learners will discover the scientific concepts behind growing plants in hydroponic systems and become experts in alternative growing methods.

Perform basic tune ups and beyond basic tune-ups into the world of computer controlled ignition systems. You will learn how the computer processes and then uses sensor data to make a host of real time decisions concerning ignition controls. The use of DVOMs, scan tools, oscilloscopes, and computer self-diagnostics will be covered.
Introduces radiography students to the principles and applications of x-ray technology. Students analyze how x-rays are produced and determine the corrective actions necessary for common equipment malfunctions.
Expands learner’s ability to conduct incident investigations utilizing analysis to connect accident events and casual factors. Covers accident costs, accident theories, analytical techniques, corrective actions, reporting and communicating lessons learned. Additionally, OSHA reporting requirements will be reviewed. Case studies will be examined and action plans will be developed throughout this online course.
Introduces the Federal and Wisconsin Income Tax laws by preparing tax returns and researching tax issues related to personal and business returns. Explores taxable and non-taxable income, filing status, dependent/exemptions deductions, adjustments to income, and various credits that can offset tax liability.
Explores two main topic areas: PLC and HMI machine applications. The learner will demonstrate the ability to learn to program a PLC they have not worked with before as well as an HMI they have not worked with before. The learner will integrate the study of curriculum, technical manuals, help files and previous knowledge to demonstrate their ability to learn new technology. Learner will develop several PLC applications and several HMI applications integrated with the PLC.

Circuit analysis utilizes project based labs where students experience the practical application of Ohm’s, Watt’s, Kirchhoff’s and Lenz’s laws. Learning experiences in IET 1 will be continued and expanded upon in IET 2.
Introduces the fundamental principles of alternating current (AC) and the effects of resistance, capacitance and inductance operating at 60 Hertz (Hz) single phase within the AC electrical and magnetic fields. Circuit analysis uses project based labs where students experience the practical application of Ohm’s, Watt’s, and Faraday’s laws. Learning experiences in IET 2 build upon those in IET 1 and will be continued and expanded upon in IET 3.
Introduces the fundamentals associated with the properties of silicon controlled devices used in industry. Both DC and AC operating characteristics will be explored as well as the application of silicon controlled devices used in industrial circuit controls. Circuit analysis utilizes project based labs where students experience the practical application of skills learned in IET 1 and 2.
Introduce the concepts of electrical systems including transformers, the potential dangers of electrical power and the application and safety standards related to electrical power components. Utility, industrial and alternative power generation and distribution systems are discussed. Advanced concepts including power factor correction are covered. Laboratory activities are performed to verify the theory.
Analyze advanced concepts of direct and alternating current (DC & AC) and expand the knowledge of electrical circuitry. Various equipment will be studied that converts AC to DC and also that inverts DC to AC. The effects of varying frequency on AC filter circuits will be explored through labs. The usage of various voltage regulators will be also be covered. IET 5 expands on concepts learned in IET 1, IET 2, and IET 3 and will continue to be expanded upon in IET 6.
Apply advanced concepts involving digital electronics and electronic devices. Operational characteristics of advanced digital circuits will be explored and analyzed. Project based labs will allow learners to demonstrate an understanding of digital integrated circuits including combinational logic, counter circuits and storage circuits. IET 6 expands on IET 3 and IET 5.
Focuses on the interconnected systems utilized in industrial applications that can proactively communicate improvements in productivity and efficiency. Focus on configuring and Implementing smart sensors, gather configured data from PLC controllers to provide the ability for data collections will be studied. Other topics will include, identifying the correct hardware, installation and wiring, sensor configuration and control.
Introduces industrial motors including the most common types of AC and DC motors. The potential dangers of Industrial motors are explored and the application and safety standards related to electric motors are reviewed and implemented. Labs include motor load and efficiency testing utilizing digital power, speed and torque measurement devices.
Introduces industrial motor drives including the most common types of DC and AC variable speed motor drives. Constant speed, torque and power operation modes, as well as the various solid state motor drive power control schemes and applications are discussed. Remote control and monitoring signals and system integration techniques are introduced. Labs include multiple vendor motor drive programming, connection, integration and testing as well as drive network communications, control and monitoring.
Introduces General Industry Safety Practices and is intended to provide an entry level worker’s general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards in a general industry setting. An OSHA 10 General Industry certification will be obtained with completion of the course. In addition, lab specific safety will be covered. OSHA has some very specific rules for receiving the certification card for OSHA 10. OSHA 10 Cards can only be issued to students in the face-to-face classes who attend every class. OSHA will not allow anyone taking this course in an online/flex format to receive a certification card. If you need the OSHA 10 card upon completion of this course, please be sure you are enrolled in the face-to-face section.
Explores the latest marketing communication practices, known as integrated marketing communications(IMC), including an overview of major media such as broadcast, print, direct, digital, public relations, and promotions. The learner will create an IMC project using the latest IMC concepts.
Expands upon the accounting cycle and special topics. The learner will deepen their understanding of balance sheet elements including cash, receivables, inventories and noncurrent assets such as acquisition, utilization and retirement. The learner will revisit the income statement and statement of cashflows from a user perspective. The learner will prepare financial statements and disclosure notes and develop an awareness of international accounting standards.
This course offers algebra content with applications and an introduction to functions and complex numbers. Content builds upon the arithmetic of real numbers by using variable equations to solve problems. Topics include graphing and finding algebraic solutions for linear equations and inequalities, quadratic, exponential, polynomial, radical, and rational equations.
Prepares students to assign ICD and CPT/HCPCS codes supported by medical documentation and official coding guidance to support appropriate reimbursement. Students will participate in CDI activities, including preparation of appropriate physician queries in accordance with compliance guidelines.
Explores the foundational skills needed to read and interpret industrial prints. Beginning with the basics, the learner progresses in a logical order through orthographic, pictorial, assembly, section and auxiliary views of products. In addition, you will learn how to interpret part dimensions and tolerances. Emphasis is also placed on title blocks, change blocks and shop notes and symbols. The symbols of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing are introduced.

Develops skills in interviewing crime victims, witnesses and suspects. Provides role play experience in interviewing and interrogation techniques for a variety of offenses, including sexual assault, robbery, theft, battery and other types of criminal offenses.
This course provides learners with opportunities to develop study skills and expand reading skills including comprehension, fluency and vocabulary skills. Learners apply reading skills to academic tasks and read to acquire information from a variety of sources. This course does not meet the General Studies course requirements for graduation in Associate Degree programs.
Introduces the basics of livestock management. Examines management of the dairy herd with concentration on nutrition, feedstuff's classification, reproduction, genetics, animal behavior, animal health and sustainable agriculture practices. Learners explore basic husbandry and care procedures for animals. This is offered in an online format.
Provides students with skills and knowledge of organic and biological chemistry necessary for application within Nursing and other Allied Health careers. Emphasis is placed on recognizing the structure, physical properties and chemical reactions of organic molecules, body fluids and acids. Additional emphasis is placed on biological functions and their relationships to enzymes, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and DNA.
This clinical experience applies nursing concepts and therapeutic nursing interventions to groups of patients across the lifespan. It also provides an introduction to leadership, management, and team building.
Expands of the skills previously introduced through the use of more advanced standard grade classifications and methods. Learners build additional experience in the grading of hardwood lumber and logs and enhance their merchandising knowledge and understanding with emphasis on hands-on exercises and techniques.

Introduces participants to the fundamentals of kiln drying lumber. The basics of determining moisture content, preparing samples and operating a dry kiln will be covered as well as an overview of different types of dry kiln equipment.

Learners compare government and non-government payers, explore payment methods, and apply systems to maximize reimbursement. Additionally, learners will gain skills in managing claim processes and advocating for patients navigating healthcare services.
Introduces the microcontroller, a tiny computer which uses digital inputs and outputs to control electrical/electronic circuits. A Basic Stamp microcontroller will be programmed via a USB port to a PC using a PBASIC editor program. It will then be connected to digital inputs such as switches and sensors and used to control output circuits such as LED displays, DC motors, relays, buzzers and servo motors.
