Training Within Industry (TWI)

May 20 - June 7, 2019
This training will provide an overview and introduction to Training Within Industry (TWI) and includes sessions on Job Methods, (JM), Job Safety (JS), Job Instruction Training (JI), and Train the Trainer. JI teaches how to effectively breakdown a job and deliver instruction for individual tasks. Developing and delivering training in this structured fashion fosters the conditions for process stability. JR teaches the foundations of positive employee relations. Developing and maintaining these good relationships prevents problems from arising and is paramount to earning loyalty and cooperation from others.

NHLA Lumber Inspector Training Program

Monday - Friday, May 20 - July 26, 2019
Northcentral Technical College (NTC) and the National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA) have partnered to host the NHLA Inspector Training School at the NTC Wood Technology Center of Excellence. This summer program is a 10-week class comprised of 350 contact hours, completed through a combination of lab and lecture time.

Drone Training Courses

Wednesday, May 22, 2019; 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
This course will begin to delve into the avenue for becoming a certified FAA sUAS pilot and will also include maintenance, pre- and post-flight checks and plans and more. Led by an experienced drone pilot and featuring guest lessons by area flight instructors, this course will prepare students and businesses to take the FAA’s Part 107 Remote Pilot Exam; upon completion of an exam, students would be certified to operate a drone for commercial and/or business purposes

Leadercast 2019

Adult Welding Boot Camp

Monday, June 3 - Wednesday, June 5, 2019; 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Think designing and creating is just for the professionals? Think again! During this 3-session boot camp, students will be lead through hands-on activities in the areas of welding, engineering and machine tool disciplines to learn the basics of fabrication and manufacturing. Each student will be creating an indoor-outdoor metal table that they can take home and enjoy the product of their gained knowledge for years to come!

Lead Safe Renovator Training (Initial and Refresher)

Various Dates - Summer / Fall 2019
These courses provide training in performing renovation and remodeling activities in a lead-safe manner. Topics include background information on lead, health effects of exposure to lead, regulations, work-site preparation, conducting interim control and non-abatement activities and work-site clean-up and disposal.

Moulder Set-Up and Knife Grinding Workshop

Monday, June 10 - Wednesday, June 12, 2019
This hands-on workshop will teach you the step-by-step procedures for accurately setting up production moulders and properly grinding profile knives. In the classroom, time will be spent focusing on basic moulder theory and principles that impact machining quality. You will then apply the knowledge gained in the classroom through hands-on practice on industrial machines in our state-of-the-art facility.
