SkillsUSA is a national partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. This event is a regional competition for participants to showcase their skills and possibly proceed to the state competition.

Coaching & Mentorship - There is a Difference!

This workshop will focus on how to better coach employees to higher performance. Coaching is a process of relationship building and setting goals. How well you coach is related directly to how well you are able to foster a great working relationship with your employees through understanding them and strategic goal setting and tips and strategies will be discussed during this workshop.

Putting Customers First - Customer Service Training

Customers today have nearly unlimited access to information and alternative products, and they often choose where to do business based on the level of service they receive. Putting your customers first strengthens consumer loyalty, reduces customer turnover and increases long-term sales. This is especially true for small business owners, as it provides nearly unlimited opportunity for differentiation and building loyalty. Learn how to stand out amongst the competition.

Respirator Fit Testing

The respirator fit testing is for any worker who is required to use a tight-fitting respirator. OSHA requires employers to fit test workers who must wear these respirators on the job and is a method used to select the right size respirator for the user. Fit testing of all negative or positive pressure tight-fitting face piece respirators is required prior to initial use, whenever a different respirator face piece is used, and at least annually thereafter.

OSHA Record Keeping

OSHA’s recordkeeping requirements are designed to help employers recognize workplace hazards and correct hazardous conditions by keeping track of work-related injuries, illnesses and their causes. This information helps employers, workers and OSHA evaluate the safety of a workplace, understand industry hazards, and implement worker protections to reduce and eliminate hazards, thus preventing future workplace injuries and illnesses.

Freshman Career Exploration Day

Freshmen from Chequamegon, Prentice and Phillips High Schools explore the different career options by participating in hands-on activities at NTC’s Phillips Campus.
