Introduces learners to the laws, regulations and various certification levels of a Commercial Driver License (CDL). Introduces learners to the basic operation of a Class A Commercial Motor Vehicle.
Builds on skills learned in Truck Driving 1 and 2, as students hone skills and practice to test for a Class A Commercial Driverâs License. This course will focus on hands-on training in advanced driving operations, backing skills, weight distribution techniques, and trip planning.
Prepares learners in the operation of commercial motor vehicles. Extensive hands-on training will be implemented throughout the course on tractor-trailers, giving the learner the skills needed to test for a Class A Commercial Driverâs License. Limited lecture will be used to inform students of industry regulations, driver safety, inspections and communication.
Prepares learners to perform basic nursing skills under the supervision of a nurse for job entry as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) or a home health aide (HHA) in health care agencies. Face-to-face and hybrid classroom, campus lab and clinical instruction are offered at various nursing homes and hospitals throughout the district. The 17- hour Basic Motorcycle Rider course, including online ECourse and in person instruction, is designed for beginning riders and was developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF). Instructors are certified by the MSF and Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). It is taught off-street, out of traffic, and motorcycles and helmets are provided. The course consists of 1 hour of classroom and 11 hours of on-cycle instruction. In addition there is a 5 hour ECourse that must be completed prior to class (fees for ECourse separate from course fee). The Basic Rider Course covers preparing to ride, turning, shifting and braking, street strategies, special situations, increasing riding skills, maintenance and insurance.

Focuses on the operation of trucks and equipment used in electric utility construction. Students will install utility poles, and URD equipment. Basic wood pole climbing techniques will be introduced. Learners will explore the overview of an electrical power system.
Builds on theory and operation principles learned in Diesel Engines 2. Examines in detail an engine's lubricating and cooling systems, as well as its internal rotating assembly. Through lab and lecture we perform diesel engine disassembly, inspection, parts evaluation and reassembly.
Prepares learners for safe operation of work site equipment. Procedures regarding welding machines, band saws, shears, grinders, oxy fuel equipment and an array of hand tools are practiced. Crane and forklift operation are introduced.
Prepares learners for Machine Tool Lab classes. Safety, the use of basic hand tools, power tools, and an overview of Manual and CNC machines are covered to aid the prospective machinist to work safely and efficiently in a Machine Tool Lab.
This clinical course builds on and expands the technical/clinical skills student dental hygienists developed in Dental Hygiene Process II. In consultation with the instructor, students apply independent problem-solving skills in the course of providing comprehensive care for calculus case type I, II and III patients and case type 0, I, II and III patients. Dental Hygiene Process III introduces root detoxification using hand and ultra-sonic instruments, laser bacterial reduction, selection of dental implant prophylaxis treatment options and administration of chemotherapeutic agents. Students also adapt care plans in order to accommodate patients with special needs.
This course highlights the similarities in equipment and technique between the major arc welding processes. Students complete introductory level competencies in the GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes. Material preparation skills include shearing, sawing, grinding, and thermal cutting. This course is 40 hours for apprenticeship programs.
Prepare foods in a lab setting while participating in various stations that are typically found in a restaurant. Learners will establish skills in serving, cooking, and customer service.
Perform vehicle preventative maintenance, and drivetrain maintenance procedures. Learners will focus on air filter, wiper blade, serpentine belt, headlamp, battery maintenance and repair.
Explores drum and disc air operated foundation brakes, as well as heavy-duty hydraulic brakes. Provides the opportunity for learners to test and troubleshoot the entire air and hydraulic brake systems. Introduces learners to ABS systems found in trucks.
Learners will demonstrate different pipe fusing procedures,they will also perform natural gas line installation of both mains and services, while reviewing standards for plastic pipe pressure testing, fusion, locating, and proper meter sizing and installation methods and codes. Traffic safety and confined space training with SCBA demonstration will also be examined.
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair. Focus will be on thread repair, oil change, tire rotations, and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) relearn procedures.
Apply and learn the operation of mills, lathes, drilling, grinding and general machining practices. This course is designed to give the learner the theory and hands-on training leading to the ability to work in a Machine Tool Lab. Individual part fabricating and precision measurement are covered.
Compares equipment and techniques used in the major arc welding and thermal cutting processes. Learners perform introductory level welds in the SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW processes. Learners also perform material preparation skills including shearing, grinding and thermal cutting.
Develops skill in gas metal arc welding. Learners use short circuit transfer to make fillet and groove welds in the flat and horizontal positions on steel. Weld quality is assessed per AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Code.
Prepares learners for fundamental tire repair procedures. Emphasis on mounting and balancing tires, service and repair of tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), basic tire leak detection methods and repairs, and basic suspension inspection procedures.
