This course is designed for those who want to move beyond the auto setting on the camera. It is intended to provide you with the knowledge and tools to take artistic control over the images you create. The course will discuss exposure control, light meters, cameras and lenses, elements of design and composition, color theory, black and white photography and a bit of post processing.
Analyzing and applying argumentation strategies are the primary skills developed in English Composition 2. Learners will conduct reading and writing synthesis techniques to strengthen high-level research, critical thinking and composition skills. This course will cover topics related to the delivery of community and mental health care. Specific health needs of individuals, families, and groups will be addressed across the lifespan. Attention will be given to diverse and at-risk populations. Mental health concepts will concentrate on adaptive/maladaptive behaviors and specific mental health disorders. Community resources will be examined in relation to specific types of support offered to racial, ethnic, economically diverse individuals and groups.
This course covers nursing management and professional issues related to the role of the registered nurse. Emphasis is placed on preparing for practice as a registered nurse.
Introduces the learner to cultural, political, legal, and economic forces and basic concepts of trade, tariffs, exchange rates, capital markets. Learners will develop the fundamentals for establishing international business enterprises, including trade and investment theory. Learners examine effects of government intervention and aid and the role of social and economic aid organizations such as the UN, EU, IMF and World Bank.

Expands on the learner's ability to manage a company chart of accounts, record purchases and process sales in QuickBooks Online. Learners will manage customer, vendor and employee records. Learners will expand upon their base knowledge of QuickBooks Online by performing investing and financing, payroll, budgets and banking activities. The learner will enter adjusting entries, produce financial statements and other month-end reports. Through a full month simulation, the learner will check for reporting accuracy and correct common mistakes to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Learners prepare the Income Statement, Statement of Owner's Equity, and the Balance Sheet from the financial records they create for service and merchandising businesses. Prepares learners to perform basic nursing skills under the supervision of a nurse for job entry as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) or a home health aide (HHA) in health care agencies. Face-to-face and hybrid classroom, campus lab and clinical instruction are offered at various nursing homes and hospitals throughout the district. Students need to submit an application and complete background check.
This course focuses on the development of advanced clinical skills across the lifespan. Content includes advanced intravenous skills, blood product administration, chest tube systems, basic electrocardiogram interpretation and nasogastric/feeding tube insertion.
Introduces students to the creative writing process in order to produce original poetry and prose using formal elements and literary aesthetics. Students will read and analyze creative works to better understand the genres they will be writing in. Students will collaborate with their classmates during the writing process through writer’s workshops in order to learn the importance of peer review and editing. Students will select one of their works to polish and prepare for publication.
