Occupational safety is important in every work environment. Designed for general industry workers, foremen, job supervisors and anyone involved in general industry, the Outreach Training Program courses are an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by the Occupational Safety Health Act (OSHA) 29 CFR 1910. When required by OSHA standards, workers must receive additional training on the specific hazards of their job. This training is recommended by OSHA. Attendees will receive an NTC certificate of completion, plus the official blue general industry wallet card issued by OSHA, to certify they successfully completed the course.

Introduces topics and libraries related to data analytics in the Python programming language. Learners will explore reading, processing, and writing files in native Python. Then they will explore data analytics, processing and visualization using NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib and Seaborn.

Reviews Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance. Covers the history, mission, employee/employer rights, compliance process, violations/citations and penalties. Top OSHA compliance violations will be discussed and compared to leading workplace injuries. The final capstone project will involve conducting a simulated mock OSHA inspection of a workplace. From this base knowledge the student will be able to initiate and/or evaluate OSHA compliance in a work setting.

Safety Management Systems 10449104

Examines occupational health and safety management principles, systems, and the supporting techniques to initiate and/or improve an organization's safety management system. Included is a focus on job safety analysis and fault tree analysis. From this base knowledge the learner will be able to coordinate safety policies and objectives in an orderly, consistent manner into existing functional areas such as operations, finance, quality and environmental management.

Incident Investigation In The Workplace 10449102

Expands learner’s ability to conduct incident investigations utilizing analysis to connect accident events and casual factors.  Covers accident costs, accident theories, analytical techniques, corrective actions, reporting and communicating lessons learned.  Additionally, OSHA reporting requirements will be reviewed.  Case studies will be examined and action plans will be developed throughout this online course.    

Data Mining & Predictive Analytics 3 10156115

Employs Python, Excel, R, and other GUI software to explore a variety of algorithms that fall under the umbrella of predictive analytics and data mining. Learners derive meaning from data using neural networks. Learners apply statistical models including linear and logistic regression. Lastly, learners evaluate data using Naïve Bayes and Bayesian Networks. Learners demonstrate their findings via PowerPoint and short video presentations.

Ethics and Implications of AI 10156123

Examines the ethical, legal, and societal implications of artificial intelligence (AI). Students will explore issues such as bias in algorithms, data privacy, and the broader impact of AI on employment and social structures and will utilize frameworks for ethical AI development and deployment, emphasizing responsible data-driven decision making.
