Explores the history and development of social media sites, along with emerging social media trends.  The learner sets up and measures the elements of a social media campaign.  The learner explores best practices for content creation, building a shoppable site, advertising, consumer engagement, and increased follower trust throughout a variety of relevant social media sites for business.

Introduces the marketing student to the program exit assessment portfolio. The portfolio will be a combination of projects from each of the marketing core classes. This course will also include how to succeed in online learning, frequently asked marketing program questions, improved study habits and exploration of NTC services for students.

Retailing And Merchandising Principles (10104208)

Explores the retail environment and the increased demand for skills and education in employees. To succeed in retailing, current and future retailers must be able to adapt to a constantly changing environment. Consumers are expecting full service and the consumer "experience" -not mere product purchase transactions. In this course, we will explore the foundation and basic functions of retailing to assist you in becoming a more knowledgeable and effective member of a retail operation. This course provides the opportunity for you to develop the skills, processes and practical experiences to manage, plan, buy, price and merchandise products within a retail business.

Develops content to maximize the social media impact by learning how to consistently post content that attracts a growing following of consumers. The learner defines a targeted audience, incorporates tactics to engage an existing audience, develops a strategy to increase followers and creates a social media marketing plan.

Explores effective ways to generate sales, acquire new customers, increase brand loyalty and drive traffic to your website or business through email marketing. The learner identifies the benefits of email marketing, creates an email campaign strategy, and measures the results. The learner identifies how to integrate social media and mobile marketing into an email campaign and learns how and why email should be a tactic within an overall marketing plan.

Explores Adobe Photoshop as a tool to create, adjust and manipulate images for print and web. Special attention is given to image manipulation techniques, color/tonal correction, resolution and output issues. Familiarity with Macintosh operating system suggested.

Explores digital photography. This course will cover digital camera features, digital image basics, using digital cameras, composition, photographic techniques and basic digital image editing.

Video For Social Media (10206160)

Applies video production tools and techniques in the creation of video content for social media marketing. Learners explore the various ways that video is used for marketing across social media platforms, how to develop original video concepts for social media campaigns, and how to use consumer video production tools to create compelling video content for social media. Learners will create an original video product for use in a social media marketing campaign.
