The Nursing Assistant Instructor Train-the-Trainer Program is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to effectively teach and train nursing assistant students. This comprehensive program focuses on adult learning principles, curriculum development, lesson planning, teaching strategies, and student performance evaluation. Participants will also gain expertise in supervising clinical practice and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations governing nursing assistant education.
Learner must have valid Wisconsin RN license and two years work experience (one year in long-term, home health, or rehabilitation care). This course will meet the state requirement for nurses who wish to become nursing assistant instructors.
Prepares learners to perform basic nursing skills under the supervision of a nurse for job entry as a nursing assistant or a home health aide (HHA) in health care agencies. Face-to-face and hybrid classroom, campus lab and clinical instruction are offered at various nursing homes and hospitals throughout the district. Students need to submit an application and complete background check.
Develops the vocabulary and techniques necessary for editing raw video footage into finished video documents. Learners will have the opportunity to develop non-linear editing techniques through hands-on project applications using professional post-production software. Learners will examine the technical and conceptual tools necessary to organize editing projects, manipulate raw footage and graphic elements and assemble them into narrative sequences. Through the Video Editing course, learners will develop the temporal concepts and NLE vocabulary necessary for completing video and animation products.
Explores the equipment, software and techniques for the successful production and post-production of audio for video and animation projects. Learners will create original audio documents, capturing sound with professional microphones and manipulating those sounds with professional audio editing and mixing software. Learners will learn techniques for capturing sound in studio and on-location settings, syncing sound to picture, using sound effects, creating original foley sounds, dubbing voices and narration, exporting to various audio formats, mixing music, effects, backgrounds and dialogue to create professional audio documents.
Develops narrative video production techniques through hands on application of camera, lighting and audio equipment and video editing software. Learners will develop original short narrative projects, cast and work with actors, work in teams to produce short narrative content and edit this content into a completed fiction film.
Applies video pre-production, production and post-production skills in the creation of a unique, client-approved video from concept to completion. Learners will have the opportunity to collaborate with other students, work in a variety of crew positions and practice effective communication skills as they create short narrative, documentary, educational and commercial video products that will be included in their portfolios.
Develops a professional portfolio of video work for use in job search and acquisition. Learners create video reels, online portfolios and content for job search, and personal and professional marketing. Learners examine job search processes, produce a CV or Resume, develop interview skills, understand avenues for project funding, navigate film festival protocol and investigate video industry work ethics and standards.
Explores professional visual effects software for the effective completion of professional post-production design applications. Learners will work on motion graphic projects, designing original vector based animations, navigating layers, and exploring key-frames in the creation of original animation projects.
