Admission to core classes in the Practical Nursing Technical Diploma is based on application date and successful completion of academic preparedness requirements.
Academic Preparedness Admission Requirements
To be eligible for a spot in the core program, students must have successfully completed the following admission requirements:
- General Anatomy & Physiology with a grade of “C” or better
- Nursing Assistant (CNA) with a grade of “C” or better
- HESI A2 Exam (minimum score of 70%) — April 16, 17, 18, 2026 HESI Exam Date Options
Determination Dates
NTC admissions staff will evaluate all Pre-Practical Nursing students to determine who has their academic preparedness admission requirements in progress or completed starting on the following dates:
- June 1, 2026 for Fall 2026 program start
- November 1, 2026 for Spring 2027 program start

Waitlist Information
NTC must comply with a waitlist policy when an academic program meets capacity and cannot continue to admit students for the particular term. This policy adheres to Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter TCS 10.
