Admission to core classes in the Respiratory Therapy Associate Degree is based on application date and successful completion of academic preparedness requirements.
Academic Preparedness Admission Requirements
To be eligible for a spot in the core program, all academic preparedness requirements must be fully completed by the evaluation date. Students will only be considered for a spot in the core program if all requirements are met at the time of evaluation.
- General Anatomy & Physiology with a grade of âCâ or better
Evaluation Dates
NTC admissions staff will begin evaluating all pre-respiratory therapy students to determine who has their academic preparedness admission requirements completed starting on the following dates:
- June 1, 2027 for Fall 2027 program start
After evaluations begin, students will be notified by email of their admission status. The evaluation process generally takes 1â2 weeks to complete; however, processing times may vary.
Contingent admission will not be offered for the Respiratory Therapy program. However, if seats remain available, students who complete all prerequisite requirements during the Summer term may be considered for admission after Summer grades are posted.

Waitlist Information
NTC must comply with a waitlist policy when an academic program meets capacity and cannot continue to admit students for the particular term. This policy adheres to Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter TCS 10.
