Admission to core classes in the Surgical Technology Associate Degree is based on application date and successful completion of academic preparedness requirements.

Academic Preparedness Admission Requirements

To be eligible for a spot in the core program, students must be enrolled in* or have successfully completed the following admission requirements:

Determination Dates

NTC admissions staff will evaluate all pre-surgical technology students to determine who has their academic preparedness admission requirements in progress or completed starting on the following dates:

  • June 1, 2026 for Fall 2026 program start

Contingent admission will not be offered for the Surgical Technology program. However, if seats remain available, students who complete all prerequisite requirements during the Summer term may be considered for admission after Summer grades are posted.

Important Update for Fall 2026 and Beyond

  • Starting June 1, 2026, for Fall 2026 core program entry and beyond, all academic preparedness requirements must be fully completed by the evaluation date. Students will only be considered for a spot in the core program if all requirements are met at the time of evaluation.

Waitlist Information

NTC must comply with a waitlist policy when an academic program meets capacity and cannot continue to admit students for the particular term. This policy adheres to Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter TCS 10.
