Admission to core classes in the Surgical Technology Associate Degree is based on application date and successful completion of academic preparedness requirements.
Academic Preparedness Admission Requirements
To be eligible for a spot in the core program, students must be enrolled in* or have successfully completed the following admission requirements:
NTC admissions staff will evaluate all pre-surgical technology students to determine who has their academic preparedness admission requirements in progress or completed starting on the following dates:
- June 1, 2026 for Fall 2026 program start
Important Update for Fall 2026 and Beyond
- Starting June 1, 2026, for Fall 2026 core program entry and beyond, all academic preparedness requirements must be fully completed by the evaluation date. Students will only be considered for a spot in the core program if all requirements are met at the time of evaluation.

Waitlist Information
NTC must comply with a waitlist policy when an academic program meets capacity and cannot continue to admit students for the particular term. This policy adheres to Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter TCS 10.
