Admission to core classes in the Nursing Associate Degree is based on application date and successful completion of academic preparedness requirements.

Academic Preparedness Admission Requirements

Students need to meet academic preparedness requirements through one of the two options below:

Option 1

To be eligible for a spot in the core program, students must be enrolled in* or have successfully completed the following admission requirements:

Important Update for Fall 2026 and Beyond

  • For Spring 2026, students will be allowed to meet academic preparedness requirements with currently enrolled courses contingent upon successful completion of the required courses at the end of the semester.
  • Starting June 1, 2026, for Fall 2026 core program entry and beyond, all academic preparedness requirements must be fully completed by the evaluation date. Students will only be considered for a spot in the core program if all requirements are met at the time of evaluation.

Option 2

To be eligible for a core program seat, students must meet the following:

Determination Dates

NTC admissions staff will evaluate all pre-nursing students to determine who has their admission requirements in progress or completed on the following dates:

  • November 1, 2025 for Spring 2026 program start
  • June 1, 2026 for Fall 2026 program start

Waitlist Information

NTC must comply with a waitlist policy when an academic program meets capacity and cannot continue to admit students for the particular term. This policy adheres to Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter TCS 10.
