Explores the latest version of Autodesk's AutoCAD program as a 2D design, drafting and visualization tool. Provides learners with skill development starting at an introductory level and progressing to a level in which authentic architectural construction graphics and working drawings including annotations can be developed.
Introduces AutoCAD by working with templates, creating and manipulating layers; basic drawing and editing commands, annotation and dimensions, and utilize inquiry tools, along with blocks, attributes, and plotting. Students will also develop the ability to use basic commands within AutoCAD Civil 3D, from importing survey data and parcel features, to alignments and profile generation, and will also spend time learning the custom user interface, core styles (used to display Civil 3D objects), and utilizing coordinate systems to start drawing files.
Introduces the 3-dimensional modeling software Inventor to create solid part models, sheet metal and assemblies. The learner will create parts and assemblies as well as related 2D working drawings, bills of materials and animations. Learners will practice their skills on a variety of projects with various levels of difficulty.

This 96-hour course prepares the participant to be able to perform fire fighting functions at the nationally recognized minimum levels under direct supervision. The targeted audience is individuals who desire to become Wisconsin Certified Fire Fighter I based on the requirements set by SPS 330.08, Employment standards, Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. This course is designed to provide the Fire Fighter I candidate with the information needed to meet the job performance requirements (JPRs) defined in NFPA 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, Current Edition, Chapters 5.2 through 5.5. The participant must also complete the Hazardous Materials Operation level course in order to meet the remainder of the NFPA Fire Fighter I JPR requirements.

Presents the clinical importance of infectious diseases with emphasis upon the appropriate collection, handling and identification of clinically relevant bacteria. Disease states, modes of transmission and methods of prevention and control, including antibiotic susceptibility testing, will also be discussed.

Learners will learn how to create vision programs and configure the robot to work with the camera system to allow storage and bin picking applications. Both 2D and 3D camera systems will be introduced.
Prepares the learner to recognize, process and preserve physical evidence with emphasis on domestic abuse, sexual assault and crimes against life. Includes a three hour lab in which students develop investigative skills and apply them in various scenarios.
Food science principles applied to professional culinary food preparations. Units include professional kitchen operation, recipe terminology, culinary math and cooking techniques for various food categories. In addition, careers in the culinary industry are explored; including professionalism, ethics and etiquette.
This clinical course builds on and expands the technical/clinical skills student dental hygienists developed in Dental Hygiene Process II. In consultation with the instructor, students apply independent problem-solving skills in the course of providing comprehensive care for calculus case type I, II and III patients and case type 0, I, II and III patients. Dental Hygiene Process III introduces root detoxification using hand and ultra-sonic instruments, laser bacterial reduction, selection of dental implant prophylaxis treatment options and administration of chemotherapeutic agents. Students also adapt care plans in order to accommodate patients with special needs.
Focuses on the air brake system component operation and maintenance for trucks and tractor/trailers. Learners are introduced to the fundamentals of heavy truck air brake systems and camshaft actuated foundation brake components. Students are instructed on proper maintenance inspection techniques for cam actuated air brake systems.
Explores drum and disc air operated foundation brakes, as well as heavy-duty hydraulic brakes. Provides the opportunity for learners to test and troubleshoot the entire air and hydraulic brake systems. Introduces learners to ABS systems found in trucks.
Focuses on the mechanical and electronic controls of air brake systems, including the operation and troubleshooting of ABS and Stability Control systems for trucks and tractor/trailers. Instruction expands to include the principles, operation, and service of automatic and automated transmission systems and their integration with other systems. Learners will apply diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques while interpreting compressed air, hydraulic, and electrical schematics related to braking and transmission systems.
Expands on the principles of basic electricity and application. Wiring diagram interpretation and utilization are introduced and practiced. Learners will also begin to apply their knowledge on the battery and starting systems.
Expands on heavy-duty electronic controls with a focus on practical lab activities and applied diagnostics. Learners will develop advanced skills in vehicle communication networks, data links, and diagnostic protocols used in both conventional and electric vehicle (EV) systems. Instruction includes EV safety procedures, high-voltage component identification, and system integration concepts. Emphasis is placed on real-world troubleshooting, fault code retrieval, and safe repair practices for electronically controlled and electric vehicle systems.
Instructs learners on the latest technologies employed in heavy diesel emission reduction systems. Covers diesel emission regulations, emission reduction theory, diesel emission contributions to air quality and ethics pertaining to diesel emission system repairs. Learners will troubleshoot and repair exhaust gas recirculation systems, diesel particulate containment systems and Tier 4 exhaust aftertreatment technologies.
Builds on theory and operation principles learned in Diesel Engines 2. Examines in detail an engine's lubricating and cooling systems, as well as its internal rotating assembly. Through lab and lecture we perform diesel engine disassembly, inspection, parts evaluation and reassembly.

Focuses on the DOT's criteria for performing annual inspections. Also covers record-keeping requirements, liability concerns, and offers the opportunity to earn an annual inspection certificate upon successful completion of the test.
Explores the full process of drying wood, including wood structure, the full relationship between different environmental variables, and developing kiln operating schedules. Learners also examine all stages of drying, how to prevent the material degradation, air drying, and steaming.
Develops the principles of electrical fabrication. Emphasis will be given to the practical application of interpreting engineering drawings, wiring machine components and troubleshooting electrical panels.
Involves developing and designing a project as the culminating course in the Electromechanical program. By creating a fully-functional automation system, the learner will tie together all of the concepts learned in previous courses. The project will consist of a machine of the student's choosing, and it will be automatically controlled by an industrial controller or computer. Systems analysis, problem solving and group cooperation are emphasized throughout the course.
Perform engine mechanical diagnosis. Students will be performing compression testing, cyl leakage testing, and engine vacuum tests. Students will also perform engine oil pressure tests and, test variable valve timing systems

Explore the design and troubleshooting of Ethernet/IP networks. Topics introduce students to integrating Ethernet networking communications, architectures, protocols, and security. Students will learn through hands-on lab activities covering setting up communication systems, networking configurations, and troubleshooting techniques.
Introduces Fluid power systems used in industry. The advantages and disadvantages of fluid power compared to other power transmission systems are examined. The potential dangers are explored and the safety procedures related to fluid power are reviewed and implemented. The application of principles of fluid power transmission and the formulas used in fluid power system analysis and design are experienced in the lab. The fundamental principles, components, symbols and applications of hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power applications are introduced. Basic power and control circuits are developed using computer aided design and simulation software and then connected and tested in the lab.
Introduces Pneumatic fluid power systems. The characteristics and dangers of using air as a fluid power force are explored. Pneumatic system components are studied including: compressors, linear actuators, rotary actuators and pneumatic tubing. Hands-on activities using various pneumatic components are assembled in the lab.
This course is designed to provide the foundational knowledge and skills to manufacture furniture. Topics covered include: furniture design styles, sourcing raw material for projects, tool selection, machine operation, joinery and furniture construction.
Introduces learners to the gas utility industry, its terminology, and definitions. Covers operation and safety procedures for hand and power tools, construction equipment, and excavation safety. Learners explore properties and characteristics of natural gas and propane.
Demonstrate pipe fusing procedures and perform natural gas line installation of mains, services, and valves. Reviews standards for plastic pipe pressure testing, locating, and proper meter sizing. Includes traffic safety, confined space training, and combustible gas indicator operation.
Covers the propane industry and natural gas gate and regulation stations, leak detection surveying, fire control, abnormal operating conditions and mitigation. Also covered are system uprating, mapping, leak repair to include steel mains, and gas line abandonment.
Examines basic concepts of human anatomy and physiology as they relate to health sciences. Using a body systems approach, the course emphasizes the interrelationships between structure and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization. Intended to prepare health care professionals who need to apply basic concepts of anatomy and physiology to informed decision-making and professional communication in the clinical setting.Student is highly recommended to have completed two semesters of high school chemistry or one semester of college chemistry with a "C" or better. All third attempts for enrollment require Dean/Assoc. Dean approval.
Prepares the participant to be able to perform the minimum hazardous material incident operations associated with firefighting functions at an advanced nationally recognized level under general supervision. The targeted audience is individuals who have completed the training required to meet the Fire Fighter I JPRs in NFPA 1010, and desire to increase their knowledge and skills base to the next level. This course is designed to provide the Fire Fighter II candidate with the information needed to meet the operational level competencies for the hazardous material first responder as referenced in the job performance requirements (JPRs) in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1010, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, Chapter 4, 4-1.1. It is based on the National Fire Academy (NFA) Initial Response to Hazardous Materials Incidents: Basic Concepts and Initial Response to Hazardous Materials Incidents: Concepts Implementation curriculums.

Students will create and edit displays, browse tags and/or global objects and connections. Additional topics include trending, data logging, alarms, and animations.
Perform basic tune ups and beyond basic tune-ups into the world of computer controlled ignition systems. You will learn how the computer processes and then uses sensor data to make a host of real time decisions concerning ignition controls. The use of DVOMs, scan tools, oscilloscopes, and computer self-diagnostics will be covered.
Analyze advanced concepts of direct and alternating current (DC & AC) and expand the knowledge of electrical circuitry. Various equipment will be studied that converts AC to DC and also that inverts DC to AC. The effects of varying frequency on AC filter circuits will be explored through labs. The usage of various voltage regulators will be also be covered. IET 5 expands on concepts learned in IET 1, IET 2, and IET 3 and will continue to be expanded upon in IET 6.
Introduces industrial motors including the most common types of AC and DC motors. The potential dangers of Industrial motors are explored and the application and safety standards related to electric motors are reviewed and implemented. Labs include motor load and efficiency testing utilizing digital power, speed and torque measurement devices.
Introduces industrial motor drives including the most common types of DC and AC variable speed motor drives. Constant speed, torque and power operation modes, as well as the various solid state motor drive power control schemes and applications are discussed. Remote control and monitoring signals and system integration techniques are introduced. Labs include multiple vendor motor drive programming, connection, integration and testing as well as drive network communications, control and monitoring.
Provides students with skills and knowledge of organic and biological chemistry necessary for application within Nursing and other Allied Health careers. Emphasis is placed on recognizing the structure, physical properties and chemical reactions of organic molecules, body fluids and acids. Additional emphasis is placed on biological functions and their relationships to enzymes, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and DNA.
Expands of the skills previously introduced through the use of more advanced standard grade classifications and methods. Learners build additional experience in the grading of hardwood lumber and logs and enhance their merchandising knowledge and understanding with emphasis on hands-on exercises and techniques.
Introduces participants to the fundamentals of kiln drying lumber. The basics of determining moisture content, preparing samples and operating a dry kiln will be covered as well as an overview of different types of dry kiln equipment.
Introduces the microcontroller, a tiny computer which uses digital inputs and outputs to control electrical/electronic circuits. A Basic Stamp microcontroller will be programmed via a USB port to a PC using a PBASIC editor program. It will then be connected to digital inputs such as switches and sensors and used to control output circuits such as LED displays, DC motors, relays, buzzers and servo motors.
Explores the fundamental principles of architectural design and drafting. Examine topics including: career exploration, sustainable-residential design, industry related practices and procedures, State of Wisconsin building codes, area planning, and sketching application.
Explores the entire forest products supply-chain including sectors, current trends, career paths, and environments related to wood manufacturing. Establishes the importance of health and safety practices in the industry and introduces learners to various hazards they will encounter across industry, including sawmills, wood shops, and industrial settings. Learners will develop basic knowledge of OSHA, mills and shops in the forest products industry, and will have the opportunity to earn an NTC Forklift Operator Certificate.
Apply and learn the operation of mills, lathes, drilling, grinding and general machining practices. This course is designed to give the learner the theory and hands-on training leading to the ability to work in a Machine Tool Lab. Individual part fabricating and precision measurement are covered.

Focuses on the operation of trucks and equipment used in electric utility construction. Students will install utility poles, and URD equipment. Basic wood pole climbing techniques will be introduced. Learners will explore the overview of an electrical power system.
Introduces learners to overhead pole framing techniques. Builds on pole climbing techniques learned in Line Electrician Field Training 1 and introduces new techniques.
Explores the general overview of plant layout, machine centers, and different product flow in a lumber manufacturing setting. Learners focus on the mix of species, and how these can be utilized in various product lines, and examine the processing of lumber through sawing, edging, and trimming manufacturing operations.
Introduces ladder logic symbols and diagrams used in industrial control circuits. Safety standards and procedures are reviewed and implemented. Discrete industrial devices are also studied including switches, relays, timers, and motor starters.
Develop motor and other actuator control and power circuits. The student will utilize typical industrial manufacturing controls. Basic machine sequence control circuits are developed using computer aided design and simulation software.
Introduces solid state motor controls and proximity and photo sensors. Machine sequence control circuits are developed using programmable logic relays (PLRs) with computer based ladder logic programming and simulation software and then connected and tested in the lab.
Introduces the fundamentals of machine design and power transmission. The different types and capabilities of power transmission components (chain and belt drives, coupling, clutches, brakes, gear reducers, bearings, and electric motors) are introduced. The student will be capable of proper selection of commercially available power transmission components into systems using the principles of power, torque, and speed.
Applies shop safety guidelines and becomes familiar with common machine shop equipment. Focuses on drill press, power saw, elementary lathe and mill operations and pedestal grinding machines. Learners will gain knowledge in layout tools and procedures and the proper use of hand tools in the shop.
Prepares learners for Machine Tool Lab classes. Safety, the use of basic hand tools, power tools, and an overview of Manual and CNC machines are covered to aid the prospective machinist to work safely and efficiently in a Machine Tool Lab.
Prepares students for the CDL road test by teaching safe and efficient operation of manual transmission commercial trucks using proper shifting techniques, including double-clutching and progressive shifting. It supports CDL candidates and CDL holders removing a manual transmission restriction in improving vehicle control, fuel-efficient driving habits, and confidence in real-world road and yard maneuvers.
Introduces the techniques used in the design and analysis of mechanisms with application to machine design. Graphical and analytical methods are presented to study the motion characteristics (displacement, velocity and acceleration) of four-bar linkages, slider-cranks, cams, gears and other special mechanisms. The use of CAD and spreadsheets is emphasized.
This course will cover topics related to the delivery of community and mental health care. Specific health needs of individuals, families, and groups will be addressed across the lifespan. Attention will be given to diverse and at-risk populations. Mental health concepts will concentrate on adaptive/maladaptive behaviors and specific mental health disorders. Community resources will be examined in relation to specific types of support offered to racial, ethnic, economically diverse individuals and groups.
Explores cutting, forming, joining and finishing processes employed in metal sculpture. Learners create works with ferrous and nonferrous metals. Assignments focus on design elements as related to materials and process, and their effect on visual impact and meaning. Conventions, trends and innovations in metal sculpture will be discussed.
Experience in producing lunch meals through the use of grills, fryers, ovens and steamers. Service experience includes cafeteria line work and fast food delivery.
Explores the hierarchy of the forest products industry structure as it relates to sawmill production facilities. Learners will examine best practices and key performance indicators and apply these concepts in a live mill environment. Topics that learners will focus on include lumber yield, grade proficiency, optimization of production flow, and downtime mitigation.
The Multiple Offender Program is a specialized education program for individuals who have experienced two or more operating while intoxicated (OWI) charges. The course will examine individual attitudes toward drinking/driving and develop a personal plan to identify and change behaviors that lead to repeat offenses. The participation of a Concerned Other (minimum of two sessions) is required. This course is open only to those who have had a court-ordered assessment from an approved assessment agency.
Introduces theoretical concepts in anatomy and physiology related to the profession. The study of the structure, growth, diseases, disorders and conditions of the nail. The study of anatomy of the hand, arm, foot, and leg to effectively apply massage techniques. Safety and infection control practices will be introduced with procedures to be followed with each and every service.
Gain skills in manicuring, pedicures, and advanced nail enhancement techniques, including polish application. Learners will determine nail shapes and proper nail care services with safety and infection control. Learners will perform paraffin dips for hands and feet. Advanced techniques will be taught and practiced in this course along with many nail art applications.
Provides hands-on training in the nail/spa area located in Studio Max. This course will be taught in a lab setting providing nail care services to the public. While providing these services, learners will be practicing safety and infection control with procedures and professionalism required for lawful and effective salon practices. Prep for state boards in this course.
Introduces the concept of looking at a current outdated automation process or future automation process and understanding how to correctly specify the hardware components that will be used to update the machine or process with today’s automation technology. The concept of creating and writing a project proposal will also be covered.
This advanced clinical course requires the student to integrate concepts from all previous courses in the management of groups of clients facing complex health alterations. Students will have the opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills using the nursing process in making clinical decisions. Continuity of care through interdisciplinary collaboration is emphasized.
Prepares learners to perform basic nursing skills under the supervision of a nurse for job entry as a nursing assistant or a home health aide (HHA) in health care agencies. Face-to-face and hybrid classroom, campus lab and clinical instruction are offered at various nursing homes and hospitals throughout the district. Students need to submit an application and complete background check.
This intermediate level clinical course develops the RN role when working with clients with complex health care needs. A focus of the course is developing skills needed for managing multiple clients across the lifespan and priorities. Using the nursing process, students will gain experience in adapting nursing practice to meet the needs of clients with diverse needs and backgrounds.
