Admission to core classes in the Nursing Associate Degree is based on application date and successful completion of academic preparedness requirements.
Academic Preparedness Admission Requirements
Students need to meet academic preparedness requirements through one of the two options below:
Option 1
To be eligible for a spot in the core program, all academic preparedness requirements must be fully completed by the evaluation date. Students will only be considered for a spot in the core program if all requirements are met at the time of evaluation.
- General Anatomy & Physiology with a grade of “C” or better
- Nursing Assistant (CNA) with a grade of “C” or better
- HESI A2 Exam (minimum score of 75%) — October 9 and 10, 2026; April 2 and 3, 2027 HESI Exam Date Options
Option 2
To be eligible for a spot in the core program, all academic preparedness requirements must be fully completed by the evaluation date. Students will only be considered for a spot in the core program if all requirements are met at the time of evaluation.
- Post-secondary cumulative GPA of 2.50 or better
- Completion of the following courses with a grade of “C” or better (all courses except Nursing Assistant must be completed within five years prior to program evaluation date):
- Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- General Anatomy & Physiology
- Advanced Anatomy & Physiology
- Microbiology
- General Chemistry (may not be eligible for Financial Aid, pre-requisite course may be required)
Evaluation Dates
NTC admissions staff will begin evaluating all pre-nursing students to determine who has their admission requirements completed starting on the following dates:
- November 1, 2026 for Spring 2027 program start
- June 1, 2027 for Fall 2027 program start
After evaluations begin, students will be notified by email of their admission status. The evaluation process generally takes 1–2 weeks to complete; however, processing times may vary.

Waitlist Information
NTC must comply with a waitlist policy when an academic program meets capacity and cannot continue to admit students for the particular term. This policy adheres to Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter TCS 10.
