The Veterinary Technician program previously used a declaration process. The declaration process was how students gained acceptance into the core classes for this program. As of April 1, this is changing.
What's Changing?
Students are no longer required to:
- Submit a declaration for the program.
- Complete the HESI A2 Exam for entry.
Updated Core Program Prerequisites (Effective April 1, 2025)
To earn a seat in core program courses, students must be currently enrolled or have successfully completed all required prerequisite courses listed below. If you are currently enrolled in any of the courses, your acceptance will be contingent upon successful completion with a grade of “C” or better prior to the start of core program courses.
- Veterinary Medical Terminology with a grade of “C” or better
- Principles of Animal Biology with a grade of “C” or better
- Veterinary Medical Calculations with a grade of “C” or better
On the following dates, Admissions will review Pre-Veterinary Technician students to determine who meets prerequisite requirements:
- June 1: Evaluation for Fall term start
- November 1: Evaluation for Spring term start
Students will be emailed their admission status and next steps.
Please note that while it’s not part of the admissions process, this program requires a Health Record. Acceptance to Northcentral Technical College will not be denied based on a health record, however, documentation is required prior to the start of core Veterinary Technician program courses.
