ASL in Math Concepts Workshop

This workshop is designed to improve the ASL proficiencies of K-12 interpreters, student interpreters, community interpreters, and deaf and hard of hearing teachers.  Join us and explore how to incorporate math concepts in to your ASL interpretations.

Welding & Mechanical Design Competition

High school students will submit welding and mechanical design projects into a competition that will be judged by professionals in the industry.

Eliminate Time Wasters: Effective Meetings

In this workshop, attendees will learn how to make the most of meetings to ensure that all participants are gaining value, not just wasting time. Skills for leading effective meeting discussions, communication skills for facilitators and tips for getting useful conversation started will be explored.

Leading Change and Diversity

In Leading Change and Diversity, learners apply the skills and tools necessary to implement and maintain a diverse work environment which understands and values the change process. Each learner will: demonstrate change management strategies, assess the current extent of diversity in the workplace, evaluate the effect of perceptions, attitudes, biases, prejudice, stereotypes and organizational culture on diversity, recognize barriers and take corrective measures, implement diversity management strategies and measure and celebrate success.

8th Grade Career Fair

This annual event is an opportunity for 8th grade students to learn more about career opportunities in Central Wisconsin, the job duties associated with those careers and also what education and training is required. In addition, many schools also tour NTC's Wausau Campus and Agriculture Center of Excellence.

Forklift Safety Training

The hazards commonly associated with powered industrial trucks vary depending on the vehicle type and the workplace where the truck is used. The best way to protect employees from injury is to know the different types of truck operated and understanding the workplace. This training will address: Types and Fundamentals, Operating the Forklift, Understanding the Workplace and Training Assistance.

Respirator Fit Testing

The respirator fit testing is for any worker who is required to use a tight-fitting respirator. OSHA requires employers to fit test workers who must wear these respirators on the job and is a method used to select the right size respirator for the user. Fit testing of all negative or positive pressure tight-fitting face piece respirators is required prior to initial use, whenever a different respirator face piece is used, and at least annually thereafter.

If you are graduating in May and have submitted your online application to participate in the commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 19, stop by the Student Leadership Center to pick up your regalia and tickets.
